It's Day 1 of Rabbit Awareness Week: Happy Hoppy Homes! 🏠🐰

Your bunnies deserve space to thrive! According to RSPCA guidelines, rabbits need housing where they can hop, run, jump, dig and stretch out fully when lying down. They need enough room to exercise and stand up fully on their back legs without their ears touching the roof. A proper setup includes separate areas for feeding, resting, and exercise.

Another day, and another entanglement…

This poor hedgehog was found tangled in a football net at the bottom of a garden. Thankfully, their dog alerted them to the hedgehogs.

2 hedgehogs had been found tangled up but for one of them, it was too late.

The surviving hedgehog was then quickly brought over to our care and we began removing all of the netting.

Sadly, this hedgehog has a severe constriction injury to one of his legs and it is very much touch and go as to whether he will recover. He was also covered in maggots and fly eggs on arrival.

Please lift any nets 30cm above the ground and store any away that are not being used.

We are hoping for a positive outcome for this poor hedgehog.

This is a little Robin we have affectionately nicknamed ‘Rusty’ ❤️

He has been visiting our Gatley’s Liss store since November last year and is quite a hit with our customers as he’s so friendly….so when you visit be sure to keep an eye out for him.

Rusty especially loves our berry suet pellets and visits frequently ….he always makes our day we think he has a partner and chicks somewhere he’s helping to feed ☺️

It’s tiring work eating delicious Brambles hedgehog food! 🥱

This video shows one of our regular hedgehog visitors eating the special hedgehog food that we sell lots of at Gatley’s.

It’s National Hedgehog Awareness week, so it’s a great time to help support these beautiful native creatures!
