After a slow start, milk prices saw a significant increase in the second half of 2024, reaching nearly 43.5p per litre for some processors by December.

๐Ÿ”นArla claimed the top spot in the price league this year, a notable turnaround from their position in 2023.

๐Ÿ”นMuller, a strong contender in 2023, slipped to eighth place in 2024. However, over a longer period, the price difference between these two major players remains minimal.

Looking ahead:
๐Ÿ”นQ1 of 2025 is expected to see relatively stable prices. ๐Ÿคž
However, with high milk volumes and falling commodity prices, there's a risk of price declines in Q2. ๐Ÿ“‰
๐Ÿ”นThe pressure is mounting on processors as end-use buyers are aware of the current market conditions. โš ๏ธ

Our Story

Wynnstay was founded in 1918 by tenant farmers of the local Wynnstay estate and was formally constituted as a farmers' co operative shortly afterwards. Over the succeeding decades, the organisation steadily grew.

Through a series of mergers, acquisitive growth and conversion to a Plc, the business has developed into a major supplier of products and services, across many parts of the UK, to the evolving agricultural industry and the rural economy. The business is further strengthened by a number of complementary joint ventures and associate companies.
