MORE BONSAI BABIES! Rivendell Sharon gave birth to a litter of 7 dwarf babies this morning, with a split of 6 does and 1 buck. Mum and babies doing great so far. Daddy Dave has done us proud!

Six new little Bonsai’s! Born on the 29th to Rivendell Tracy (Russian Blue dwarf) and Rivendell Dave (Russian Dove dwarf). Both mum and babies looking good so far! Really excited to see what these 4 does and 2 bucks are and to see them grow!

Out of 23(!) Provisional Standard entries, Bonsai Yennefer got 4th place at the Annual Cup show at Meldreth!

Both Yen and Ciri got good critiques, though Ciri was only let down by her markings, which is something I’m breeding away from anyway, as these are only my first generation of dwarf.

All in all, a good day!

The boys have their turn with the Halloween props! Also six weeks old.

Our first litter turned 6 weeks this week and as it’s close to Halloween we took some themed pics! Here’s the girls having some fun with the smallest pumpkin we could find!

Tracy’s litter is here, and we have 8 little beans! It looks like we have six does and two bucks. All look to be healthy so far and have milk bands. Tracy is doing well too, probably relieved to finally have them out of her!

Here’s the litter at 3 weeks!

They’re so cute and fun! They’ve got so much energy, watching them play together is so adorable!

#1 (RB vari doe), #2 (RB buck) and #3 (RB Berkshire doe) are definitely staying with us as keepers.

The last 3 RB ‘vari Berkshire’ bucks will potentially be homed out, though I won’t be deciding that until possibly January, and I’ll be VERY fussy about who they go to…

Yesterday marked 14 days since our first dwarf litter was born, and their eyes are starting to open!

In the long-term we’ll be breeding away from marked, which five of these six are, but I’m just really glad that we have a healthy and happy litter and that Shaz has been an incredible mum to them.

One week old! Two does (right) and 4 bucks. All six doing well, and Shaz is doing a great job of mothering them still!

Bonsai babies!!! Shaz gave birth this afternoon to 6 little dwarf beans!

Despite having a ton of nesting material, Shaz decided to push it all away 🤦🏻‍♂️

So happy to finally have our first litter, and mum and babies all seem to be doing really well!

Things have been really slow going with the dwarfs; my partner Caroline (Bluethorn Stud) has been ill so looking after her and her current litters has been the priority. Now she’s on the mend, it’s time for my first dwarf pairing, with Sharon and Adam, both of Rivendell, being paired up. Adam showing interest instantly!
