The Animal Welfare (Import of Dogs, Cats and Ferrets) Bill 2024-25 was introduced in the House of Commons on 16 October 2024. Its Second Reading was on 29 November 2024, and its Committee stage on 14 May 2025. It is scheduled for its remaining Commons stages on 4 July 2025.

Well this new legislation currently going through the parliament.
It means we will not be able to import dogs to the UK who had docked tails or ears.
We are a rescue and we can never choose. But this means we won't be able to help Brittany spaniels or Pointers.
We currently have 2 Brittany spaniels Nikki and Roza under our care who needs to find their forever or foster homes very soon.
This legislation makes many rescuers life incredibly heartbreaking..😭💔
PS- We do not send dogs under the age of 7 months so that part will not effect us.

Dobbie - well you can all guess why is the name. 😂 (It had to be pointed out to me!)
He is a gentle giant - shepherd mix possibly with a labrador - with 3 legs.
He has been hit by a car and sadly his back leg could not be saved.
He was due to fly to an adoptive home but sadly a few days before departure he was let down.

We have agreed to step in and foster him.
Dobbie has been with us since Saturday and fitted in well to my household of 8 other dogs.
He is a young and happy go lucky boy.
He is great on the walks and happy to meet people kids as well as other dogs.
He is playful. Having 3 legs does not stop him at all..
He can run.
Obviously having one leg missing he cannot be walked extensively.
He loves his food but waits patiently and takes treats gently.
Oh yes and he adores toys.😍
He is gentle and goofy as well as clumsy. But all in all adorable.
He is looking for his forever home with other dogs or as an only dog.

IN FOSTER - MYRA BRITTANY SPANIEL X

This is gorgeous Myra in foster with me in Devon. Has been in the UK for 7 weeks.

Myra is a Brittany spaniel x aged 2.5 years old. Weighs approximately 17kgs. She is the size of a spaniel.

She’s housetrained, sleeps through the night, absolutely loves cuddles and being the centre of attention. She gets on well with my dogs. Her recall is good (for the breed!) . She loves toys and is happy to play on her own. Eager to please and as loves treats and toys will be easy to train. Travels well. She’s very lively and excitable so no young children but she settles quietly in the lounge in the evening or will lie quietly under my desk in the office. Just wants to be close to her human.

Can go as only dog if adopters home most of the time and lots of socialisation with other dogs. Alternatively she will be great with a resident non dominant dog.

She’s a super dog. Would be a lap dog given the chance.
