Puppies are such hard work to dogsit but are also such a delight 🖤 they really are like little sponges

Why have abs when you can have prawns 💁🏽♀️ #dog #bulldog #dogsitter #londondogsitter #essexdogsitter

Breed specific enrichment 🖤
If you are going away for the weekend and need a pet sitter in London and surrounding areas - I'm your gal!

Touch cue Teddy
When your client remembers the new trick you taught him 😂
Calm training 🖤
Practising some engage disengage work after pabs has a rough evening last night
He actually saw two dogs he has reacted to before, and heard a dog barking and he just shrugged it off 💁🏽♀️
Also - using treats isn't cheating

Loose lead walking
Some beautiful loose lead walking from Arn and El - on their FIRST session
Loose lead walking is something that can take a while to master, so always break your training sessions into manageable chunks
I suggested that El spends no more than 10 minutes a day practising loose lead walking in different places, and in-between sessions to let Arnie decompress by using a longline and harness - while still rewarding for good behaviours
Walk back
Teaching Pablo to walk backwards when he's in the tunnel position!
Rewarding for even the smallest steps backwards as I want to keep it fun and rewarding
Duration to touch cue
So today we was working on building duration into Pablo's touch cue
I love to see how enthusiastic he is about learning new things 🤣
We keep sessions short and sweet and I always make sure he is rewarded for trying, even if it's not perfect

Touch cue
What is the touch cue good for??
A fun recall
Moving your dog off furniture
Moving your dog anywhere without having to touch them
A target for more advanced behaviours, eg heel, leg weaves
Can help as a reactivity distraction - making your dog touch your hand is incompatible with barking and lunging
Lovely recall ❣️
"I use an ecollar so my dog can be free"
You DO NOT need an ecollar to give your dog freedom
Your dog DOES NOT need to go off lead in unsecure places to have an enriched life
Use a longline, a harness and a high value reward (toys/treats/affection, whatever your dog finds rewarding)
You can also use activities as a recall reward - show your dog that hole in the ground to dig, follow that squirrel with them
Is your dog really free if you are stimming them with an electric shock when they don't come to you first time?
Is it really fair to expect a dog to recall back to you in an environment they have never practised in before?
Ice cream doggo
Never let anyone make you feel bad for enriching (some call it spoiling) your dogs life 💁🏽♀️
