‘Oi, that’s mine!’

The food that this cat is eating is left out for the fox but the neighbouring cat has other ideas!

Some people might think the fox is being aggressive to the cat but the fact is, he's simply trying to intimidate the cat away, because he knows just how much damage the cat can do with his sharp talons if they did get into a scuffle. The cat knows this!

With the sound up, you can hear how much the cat is growling and is refusing to give up the food to the fox who it is intended for!

WIN FOR THE ELTHAM WARREN FOXES

We can confirm after discussions with Eltham Warren Golf Club - they have cancelled the planned killing and publicly commit to not harming not just any foxes, but all wildlife now and in the future!

Great work everyone for pushing such a quick change around, please be sure to share and reach out to the club to welcome their new approach, truly humane and animal friendly!

Thank you so much to everyone who has contacted Our Lady of the Rosary Primary School in Sidcup about the trapping/killing of foxes in their grounds.

Although the school have not replied directly to our attempts to contact them, they have released the statement below on their website which suggests that they are adopting humane alternatives and using Fox-a-gon instead of lethal methods.

We would obviously be happier with a statement categorically stating that no further pest control will be carried out going forwards but this is nonetheless a very positive development.

We have verified information from concerned members of the public that fox traps have been set at Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Primary School in Bexley, Sidcup:

This type of pest control involves trapping live foxes (causing agitation and potential injuries, not to mention the very hot weather this weekend) before shooting them off-site.

The school website describes how respect and compassion are important values for their pupils. Please ask the school to extend these same values to the much-loved local fox families that visit or live in their grounds. There are humane alternatives and deterrents available (for example, Fox-A-Gon) that do not involve killing our beautiful wildlife and set an example of tolerance and understanding to future generations.
