‘Oi, that’s mine!’

The food that this cat is eating is left out for the fox but the neighbouring cat has other ideas!

Some people might think the fox is being aggressive to the cat but the fact is, he's simply trying to intimidate the cat away, because he knows just how much damage the cat can do with his sharp talons if they did get into a scuffle. The cat knows this!

With the sound up, you can hear how much the cat is growling and is refusing to give up the food to the fox who it is intended for!

🦊 This is Nico-she is in our care after being abandoned by her mother when she moved the rest of her cubs but left her behind. It is always so much better when cubs can be reunited with their mother-and we have done so with many already this cub season-but it is not always to be. ❤️

🦊 This is Hattie-she is a little fox who I treated for mange. I first heard about her before Christmas and when I went to investigate, found that she has quite a big fan club with locals, many of who feed her daily.

She has been recovering really brilliantly where she lives without putting her through the stress of bringing her in for treatment. Everyone is delighted as she is such a jolly little girl but she is tamer than she should be. This is possibly due to neurological issues or just because she has been used to interacting with humans a lot, especially being fed at close quarters. Mange often makes them lose their fear too but they usually revert to wildness as they recover. She has not really done that.

She had a wound recently which made her out of sorts for a few days but she was quite elusive-literally kicking her wounds, no doubt. But closely monitored, she recovered again and is bouncing around as usual!

We have a specific Whatsapp group of quite a number of people who observe her daily. I am constantly reviewing her situation and fully aware of her issues and all available options for her. It is quite difficult to make decisions in the current situation and for now, she is doing just fine! ❤️

🦊 It was lovely to be joined by founder of the Fox Project, Trevor Williams at our fox meeting last night. It was great for potential volunteers to hear about how it all began and what more people can do to help improve the situation for foxes in London. Everybody loved it! Now we just need folk to get on board and really make a difference! 🦊

Lawyer will not be charged for killing fox - RSPCA

Unsurprisingly, boasting fox killer, lawyer Jolyon Maugham will not be charged for killing a fox with a baseball bat, says RSPCA. What a disgusting example of humankind. Let’s hope decent people never let him forget it.

Jolyon Maugham apologises for the "tone" of his tweets that said he killed a fox with a baseball bat.

Today we saw one of our cats deciding to allow this beautiful fox into her territory. Initially I was very worried but then having asked on our neighbourhood’s page I was overwhelmed by the positive comments and a lovely lady led me to this page; our mind has been put at ease 🐾 Thank you for creating this page, we always worried if she gets into a fight with a fox as she’s incredibly dominant and territorial over the garden 🐾 she’s up to date with her jabs and all the necessary and will keep an eye out for any cubs to keep her indoor more then. Please let me know if there’s anything else we need to keep an eye out for?...

P.S:- Please pardon the messy garden as we’re just finishing off some building work at home.

A fox I treated for mange recently always defers to the cats in her neighbourhood and stands back to let them eat any food first even though they have more than enough! She happily hangs out with them but she knows who are the bosses-the cats, of course! ❤️

🦊 Could you be a fox rescue volunteer? 🦊

This is a lucky Central London fox who has had her first dose of mange medication so her life will be saved. These meds must be given under strict surveillance to ensure that the correct fox eats it as it is dangerous to other animals and cannot be left unattended.

Just to give an idea of how difficult and time consuming this is-I already spent 6 and a half hours there over two days, not including travelling time and only treated one fox. She needs a 2nd dose in a week or so. There are 4 foxes in the group with one having equally bad mange. Many more hours/days will be needed to save these foxes lives and I am contacted about dozens like this every day. There are never enough hours in the day!

I am aware of the other different treatments available-there are reasons for choosing each one based on individual cases.

If you would like to help foxes but are not necessarily up for hands-on rescue/cage trapping etc you might be able to help with other things. Driving is a big help but not essential.

There is a meeting for potential volunteers this Tuesday 11th Feb in Camden at 7.30pm. Please private message me or email me at [email protected] for venue details. 🦊

🦊🆘🦊Volunteers urgently needed!🦊🆘🦊

I have been holding these monthly meetings for 3 years now and although attendance has been high, sadly it has not resulted in many active volunteers. Of over 300 attendees, just one person has become a regular active volunteer but I am hoping this can change!

There are many other valued volunteers who have been able to occasionally help on a rescue or have contributed in other ways and I am very grateful for that support but we really need to get more people on board if possible!

Fox rescue doesn't just involve hands-on rescue, although this is so urgently needed and can come with training and experience. There are many other things that can be done to help foxes; transporting foxes; mange treatment; monitoring humane fox traps; fundraising; dispelling myths and passing on useful facts about foxes.

If you think this might be for you, please come to the meeting on Tuesday 11 Feb at 7.30pm in Camden Town NW1.

Please message me to attend or email [email protected] 🦊🦊🦊
