Make no mistake your dog is cared for with love. I form a really good bond with them and I am interested in working with their individual needs and preferences. I don't cuddle them when they don't like it, for example, I get their consent. Rolo is consenting here as his head is turned towards me and tucked in.

Lots of cuddles. I have so much love to give each dog I care for. I want owners to know that when I care for your dog I care for them as if they were my own. I am extremely maternal and I instantly want to love and protect people and animals.

I never cuddle if the dog doesn't want to. If you look at this photo Rolo wants a cuddle. His head is turned towards me and not away. His body is relaxed and so we are enjoying the cuddles together 🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗

Well. One car down. One car up then a phone down. It's been a dramatic time at Nanny Toebeans but I'm back on track 😊. Thank you so much all of you for being so supportive during the turbulence, I am immensely grateful!

I will be posting some ideas for enrichment during the hot weather such as the walk Ludo and I took. For now though please enjoy our photos from today 😍.

It is immensely important to me to offer the highest standard of care I can. Good care with dogs involves judging them correctly, building a rapport and accommodating individual needs. I am so grateful to Nordic for their truly ethical approach to dog training, I have learned so much that has enriched my life and that of my doggos.

Absolutely adoring animals - Yes this is my passion and it is easy to see this is my vocation. That is unmistakable love right there and I have it for each of the dogs I work with. Each dog is so different and I enjoy learning about each one and seeing them grow and explore. I love that they love me too and I am always greatly honoured to be considered a friend.

Can you relate? Swipe right 😂. I got this in Beckenham Place Park . Bloody amazing place to pop into on a dog walk. This is also a great dog walking wallet, it is flat, light weight and takes up very little space.

Wet dogs! We had so much fun today with an extended treat search with pancakes, fresh chicken and salmon nom nom. We also played with ALOT of tennis balls. Some of us have stayed on to the afternoon and we are at Snuffle Dog Cafe now.

Find out the benefits of treat search a useful hack for your doggos to help entertain them in hot weather. Everyone with dogs should know the benefits of a good, properly executed treat hunt.

- Calmer dog
- Satisfies your dogs instinct to sniff
- Mental Exercise
- Promotes focus and concentration
- Can help reactive dogs as part of a package of help.

With thanks to The Pooch Shed ‘Chews Natural’ for the treats.

Back to Snuffle Dog Cafe & Wine Bar today. Remember to keep your dogs cool! Here are some tips for safe activity today.

Dogs do not release heat in the same way we do so hotter temperatures affect them faster. In temperatures above 25 we may struggle to keep our cars cool even with aircon. Here are some tips for walking your dogs safely.

- cover your car with aluminium blankets or use sheets at sundown. Each time you stop your car replace the covering. This will also mean you need to use the aircon less and you will save on petrol.

- If you can pre cool your car.

- Carry water with you and encourage your dog to drink. Some dogs need to see it is water so move it a little with your finger.

- ventilate the car with boot locks and window vents.

- Stick to safe temperatures and times, this can vary for different dogs but ideally above 23 degrees you should be walking your dog early morning and late evening.

- Reduce the time of walks and the pace. Your dog does not need a full hour.

Hello lovelies, apologies for being away again. I was training with the Institute of Modern Dog Trainers and having a huge amount of fun. It is one of the few reputable trainings that allow you to train in person which makes a massive difference to the kind of trainer you can become.

I had so much fun working with some amazing people, cuddling plenty of dogs and learning so much in one week 🐶🐕

Ludo spreading the summer love vibes. "Hello Errol I lurve you, let's play!" Ludo is only 5 months but he is a seriously confident and intelligent pooch. However too much confidence as a puppy can be a bad thing when they start bossing other dogs. Make sure your little one is playing and not bullying other dogs. Also make sure they don't play for long periods of time, this isn't controlled socialisation they are learning from and it can be overwhelming. For signs of overwhelm look for signs like nose licking, yawning (not in the context of tiredness), a grin that looks tense or increased biting. Be sure to break up puppy play before it reaches the stage of play turning to aggression by reading your puppies signs.

I am an ethical dog walker but what does that mean? It means I have trained and I am training to provide the highest possible standards of care I can for dogs. It means;

1.No dogs squashed in cars
2. Freedom to play and be in the most beneficial way
3. Behaviour is manage in postive ways by meeting dog needs, careful planning of walks and managing environments.
4. That I have trained and I am training to learn how to communicate with dogs
5. Each dog is offered opportunities to express themselves.

Oh we had fun in Dulwich Park yesterday, the sun was out. No more mud! We were able to run and throw sticks without falling over. We were able to sniff all the beautiful flowers that had come out. I think that Dulwich Park is by far one of the prettiest South London parks to dog walk in.

Many people place emphasis on the length of a walk to determine its value rather than what is in a walk and how the dog is treated. A dog walk can be tiring after 40 minutes if it includes games or another activity like tug. My walks are 1 hour but they are carefully designed to be tiring by providing new environments, interesting environments, games and time to sniff and potter. Dogs do go home tired, particularly after the field visit in which they run free around all the smells of a working farm.

Who did I take for coffee this week? Holly! Her lovely owner gave us a Nero voucher a few weeks back because I was working while poorly, how sweet is that!
Big shout out to in Beckenham for having the friendliest staff for dogs and for humans. Both times I have gone with Holly they have noticed I will need help getting to a table and they've carried my tray. Yesterday the young man serving noticed Hollys Puppachino went everywhere and he brought her a bigger cup to drink from. Thank you ❤️☕
Holly needed her puppachino after a long weekend enjoying St Patrick's day, judging by her last photo it was a heavy weekend 😂🍀💚.

The more I learn about dogs the more I am impressed. They are not just our constant domestic companions they can be trained to work within the police force with their super snouts, as dogs for veterans with PTSD, as dogs for the blind and in the past they were used to raise money for charity. Today is K9 Veterans Day in the US, which has had me thinking about what service dogs I knew and know.

The wonderful Nutmeg, a chocolate lab was the loveliest friend and such an empathetic soul. She was trained to be an autism assistance dog. Over several years I work with Nutmeg through Autism Life Dogs and I was also Nutmeg's walker at times. I miss her greatly, she sadly passed away in 2019.

Laddie, an airedale terrier, was a service dog you might not know about and one that warms my heart. He was a dog I would regularly see as a child during the 90s at Wimbledon Station. I would look at him longingly, trying to imagine his past. Now I know that this dog in the 50s, like others, raised money with a little tin box on his back. Sometimes dogs would perform tricks to get donations. Laddie managed to raise £6000 when he was alive. He was a Highland Terrier and started collecting on the Station in 1949. He retired in 1956,He died in 1960, was stuffed and continued to 'collect' on platform 5 until 1990, when he was transferred to the Transport Museum at York.

All of these dogs are doodles I have worked with and there are many more. Some of them look like terriers with a straight coat and they vary in size from the very tiny Chipoo to the XL labradoodle. In large part they share similar traits specific to their breed but there are obvious variations too. I work with what unites them while allowing room for individual differences.

Here are some things I think unite the doodles.

- Doodles love puzzles but not all of them will be able to do Nina Ottoson or Trixie toys above level 2. Some dogs particularly cockerpoos or sproodles will get on better with a snuffle mat.

- Doodles love retrieving and not just the big sized doodle mixes but small ones like Poppy my schnoodle.

- Many doodles will prefer YOU as a reward rather than food, they thrive on a lot of interaction.

- Doodles seem to recognise and prefer each other's company.

- They can be very fast learners.

What else would you add to this doodle list?

Do you find your doodle a lot to handle? I've been told off for saying doodles are different but they are. They frequently require almost as much input as a child would even when well trained whatever that means.

I have now worked with so many doodles and I own a doodle and I still wouldn't change my mind that doodles require a specialised kind of care.

The goldendoodle is now Britain's most wanted dog, but I'm not sure I'd pick a poodle-cross if I had my time again
