Comment ‘REFLEX’ to receive a video on how to learn loose leash walking with your dog. Learning loose leash walking helps your dog understand what you expect of them when on a leash.

Yes he does!!! 👏🏻 Here is a brilliant example of what a dog should look like on the train. Little Goya is doing extremely well, relaxed, minding his own business with his chew next to his owner. This is what I love the most about my job, videos from clients that show me evidence that positive reinforcement training and care are enough. My best advice for anyone who’s looking to take their dog on the train is: Double down on games that teach your pup to focus on YOU no matter the environment. You are on your usual dog walk and suddenly when you turn a corner another dog with their handler comes your way, how do you handle this on-leash meeting? 1️⃣ Dogs meeting on leads should always be on a loose leash. (If it’s tight, it’s not right) 2️⃣ Handlers should manage tangling by walking at the dog’s head area, facing the same direction as the dog 3️⃣ Allow dogs to meet on leashes with all paws on the floor. If your dog gets aroused and starts to jump up. Quickly remove them from the situation, allow them to calm down, and reintroduce them We are often the cause of their reactive behaviours, even if we don’t mean to. Crate training is a non-negotiable for both my german shepherds Lexi and Raven. Providing your dog with a safe, familiar space for them to feel secure on their own should be your top priority. Crates can help with: ✅ Dogs settling and calming down in stressful environments ✅ Keeping your dog safe when unsupervised ✅ Providing a safe and calm space for them to rest without being interrupted Crates should be introduced in a safe and stress-free manner for the dog. So be gentle and support them through the process. They shouldn’t be spending hours-long crying 🛑 Lastly, it’s best to crate train your puppy from day 1, however, dogs of any age can be crate trained!
