Today we had the most wonderful walk with members of Age UK Bromley & Greenwich. The sun was shining and we had the beautiful surroundings of @beckenhamplacepark
It was warming to see so many conversations and new friendships being formed, whilst being outdoors and enjoying the companionship of our CareDogs.
This is what it is all about โ๏ธ๐๐พ

Our CareDogs love nothing more than keeping fit with plenty of exercise and lots of walks ๐พ Happy National Fitness Day!
A day in the life of a CareDog...๐๐
Our lovely client Wendy referred herself to our befriending service back in February this year. Wendy is 64 years old and lives with her two cats, meaning she cannot have a dog of her own. ๐ถ
In search of motivation to get out and improve her wellbeing, Wendy signed up to CareDogs and it was the pawfect fit! Wendy meets regularly with her volunteer and their dog Joey for walks, talks, treats and cake and has said that "walking with my CareDogs volunteer and Joey gives me purpose". ๐พ

Todayโs group dog walk at Beckenham Place Park felt like the perfect way to start off spring, filled with wonderful people, adorable dogs, great conversation, CareDogs cookies and more.
Stay posted to hear about our next one and to join in on our dog-friendly fun, bringing people together in community and getting out and about.
We walked for 1.5 hours around the grass, paths and the mud before getting stuck into biscuits, tea and talks! Thank you to everyone who joined today and made our third ever group walk so memorable.
Our Founder, Delphine, was privileged to present at Bromley Buzz Letโs Talk Better campaign to explain how we encourage community connections by pairing up local dog owners with older people in their area to go for walks and talks together.
The results are speaking for themselves with 79% of our clients saying they now walk more as a result of CareDogsโ befriending service and 100% of them enjoying their weekly befriending sessions.
86% of our clients state feeling more positive about walking in general since joining our service.
So hereโs to all of us getting out and about in our local community and walking and talking more!

We braved the rain for another super fun year at Paws in The Park by Friends of Cator and Alexandra ๐พ It was an honour to co-judge the โbest rescue dogโ category and for our very own founderโs dog, Nola, to win 2nd best for her โspeakingโ talents! We loved meeting the Cator Park locals and speaking with more potential volunteers (and their lovely dogs) to help with our befriending service. Thanks again for having us! ๐
๐พ Our CareDogs Walk In The Park today was so much fun ๐ Take a sneek peak and we hope you will join us next time!๐ถโโ๏ธ
We started earlier than usual to avoid the peak heat, had lots of water for the pups and cupcakes for our amazing volunteers, made by our Client Manager, Julia who so generously volunteers her time and talents with us.
Lots of onlookers were interested to know about CareDogs and we hope to recruit even more volunteers and their four-legged friends to join our befriending service!
Today was made possible, thanks to Localgivingโs Magic Little Grants which allowed us to design and get our CareDogs team jumpers, dog bandanas and latest literature to spread our mission far and wide!
Claudia talking about her dogs Harley and Nala and how they up her wellbeing
โค๏ธ We asked CareDogs' long-time friend Claudia about how her dogs, Harley and Nala helps improve her everyday well-being.
๐ If you have a dog, how do they help you every day?
๐ Did you know that caring for a pet can give your day purpose and a sense of achievement whilst feeling valuable and needed. It gives owners someone to share their routine with, especially in later life. (Source: Mental Health Foundation)
How have your dogs been enjoying the snow?
Here are some of the CareDogs canine crew having zoomies, snowball snacks and garden playtime โ๏ธ๐พ
ITV London interviewed our wonderful pair, Colin and Fiona (and her lovely dog Ellie) to talk about how impactful our befriending service has been, especially for Colin who sadly lost his wife Jo a couple of years ago.
We bring community and friendship into people's lives via canine companionship, walks and talks. Watch our segment here, filmed in today's gale force winds!
CareDogs Charity Asks Some Friends About The Health And Emotional Benefits Of Having A Dog
We all know that having (and stroking) a pet can reduce anxiety, ease stress and bring joy into our lives - so we asked some CareDogs friends what having a dog means to them.
