"This is Ziggy and Pebbles, brother and sister who we adopted at around 5 mths old from your sanctuary in Brede over 8 yrs ago.

Originally they were called Jonesy and Tippy Toes. They were extremely nervous and shy and still are a little bit. We have always had cats and had wanted to get two cats together and we finally found these two little cuties.

They're indoor cats and so different from each other. Ziggy loves being picked up cuddled and is quite a character. Pebbles is a sweet little girl who only gives her love and accepts affection on her terms.

Two very different little cuties and we are so happy we were able to give them their forever loving home. 😻" -Wendy

Budgie and Canary came to us after being discovered in a pub's outhouse alongside their mum and two sisters. They are a shy but endearing pair of brothers who are about to celebrate their first birthday! 🎉

These brothers have made incredible progress from the nervous kittens they once were. While they’re still a little cautious around new people, they warm up quickly with the help of treats and toys, and soon, they’ll be your best friends.

Budgie, the handsome tabby, is the more reserved of the two. He often follows his brother’s lead and is usually the second to approach. He loves to play and will happily take treats from your hand. Once he feels secure and has built trust, Budgie transforms into a loving lap cat who enjoys soaking up affection.

Canary, a striking white-and-tabby boy with adorable “eyebrows,” is the braver of the two. He’s always the first to investigate and greet visitors, especially if treats are involved! Canary is quick to warm up and will soon allow gentle strokes once he feels comfortable.

This sweet duo would thrive in a spacious indoor home or one with access to a safe garden. They aren’t suited for a household with children but could happily coexist with other cats.

To enquire about Budgie and Canary please email [email protected] with your name, address and contact phone number.

"We adopted Melvyn/Melvers (formerly Oliver) and Debbie Caprice/DC/Debbers (formerly Benji), collectively known as the Kitters, from your Lewisham branch in March 2022.

They were super nervous little nellies but have come out of their shells. Melvyn will come and sleep with us sometimes and Debbie Caprice goes wild for a pamper with a brush in each hand.

You’ll notice most photos are in their beloved cactus hammock, which is their happy place, in which they will allow unlimited petting.

They love each other so much, but not as much as we love them, couldn’t imagine life without them!" -Benji and Jeffrey

Happy Adoption❤️

"Jeremy was adopted in December 2015 from Greenacres as an eight month old kitten. It was his third and furever home. Jeremy lives with his pawrents - Debbie and Paul and his brothers Kevin (also adopted from
Greenacres) and Colin.

Jeremy loves boxes (any size will do), climbing over roofs and rolling on the floor. He’s also fond of bringing in ‘gifts’.

Jeremy is entertaining and makes us laugh and as he’s getting older, he is a perfect mix of big adventuring cat and a big softie who loves a big cuddle and being carried around the house. He’s also very friendly and the first to greet visitors to his house."

❤️Twinette’s Story: A Plea for Help

When Twinette was found stray in someone’s back garden, her plight was clear. For eight long days, she stayed there, seemingly waiting for someone to notice her.

The homeowners became concerned when they saw her walking with her head tilted to one side—a subtle but alarming sign that something was very wrong. (See video in comments section.)

A head tilt in cats is not just a quirky posture. It often points to serious medical issues such as inner, middle or external ear infections, vestibular disease, or even neurological conditions. Cats with a head tilt may also experience balance problems, discomfort, or disorientation, making it a critical condition that needs urgent attention.

Thankfully, the concerned property owners contacted our Canning Town clinic, and our rescue team swiftly stepped in to bring Twinette to safety.

Since then, Twinette has been receiving the best care we can provide. She’s currently under medical management to help her condition, but it seems she will likely need a surgery known as a Total Ear Canal Ablation Latera Bulla Osteotomy (TECA LBO), a procedure which can remove the problem in her middle ear and improve her quality of life.

This is where we need your help...
The cost of this surgery is significant, but with your support, we can ensure that Twinette gets the second chance she deserves. Every donation brings us closer to giving her the relief and healing she so desperately needs.

Twinette has already shown incredible resilience and spirit despite her struggles. Now, she needs you to join her journey to recovery.

👉 Please donate today to help fund Twinette’s surgery and ongoing care. Together, we can give this brave little cat the happy-ever-after she deserves. Tap the link below⤵️

❄️🐾 Snowy is a gorgeous 2-year-old neutered female with a heart full of love. She came to us after her previous owner could no longer care for her.

This sweet and affectionate girl adores attention and rewards it with a steady purr. Snowy loves giving gentle kisses and enjoys being held and carried around, making her a truly endearing companion. ❤️

She’s looking for a home with a garden where she can explore and play. Snowy can live happily with children but would prefer to be the only cat in the household to fully thrive.

Please email [email protected] with your name, address and contact phone number to register your interest in sweet Snowy.

Lilu was abandoned along with her son, Rudy, but fortunately, a kind person rescued them and brought them to us. ❤️

While in our care, we introduced Roberto—who was the same age as Rudy—and, surprisingly, Lilu formed a strong bond with him.

Roberto himself was found wandering along a busy high street. Lilu (1 year and 7 months old) and Roberto (8 months old) are a delightful pair of cats who are now looking for a loving home together.

Both Lilu and Roberto are incredibly friendly and playful. Lilu, having been a very young mother, still has a kitten-like spirit and enjoys running and playing with Roberto. They sit at your feet purring and kneading as they wait for affection. They would thrive in a home with a garden and would be happy living with children.

Please email [email protected] with your name, address and contact phone number to register your interest in this kittenish pair. 😻

😻Chops is a charming 3-year-old neutered male cat in search of a loving forever home after spending much of his early life on the streets.

With his gentle and affectionate nature, Chops adores attention and will happily sit close by, purring contentedly and kneading his paws. His purr is wonderfully loud, filling the room with a comforting sound of happiness.

Chops would thrive in a home with access to a garden, and he’d do well with older children. He’s also comfortable living with female cats but prefers to be the only male cat in the household.

"When we adopted Treacle he was a shy, withdrawn, terrified boy who wanted nothing to do with us at all. We're including a photo from a couple of months after he arrived, cowering behind an armchair. Poor thing! We dread to think what previous experiences he had had with humans, to make him so terrified of us.⁣

It is nearly two years now since we adopted Treacle from you, to be a stepbrother to Roker and Pallion (also adopted from you, in 2017 – they were Muriel and Myrtle during their time with you). Keeping with a “black cats” theme, we named him Penshaw.⁣

But slowly, very slowly, he has come out of his shell, settled down and learned to trust us. It took him almost a full year before he was ready to be stroked but now he loves to head-butt our hands demanding yet another stroking. ⁣

When not seeking strokes or food (he loves his food), he enjoys spending time in the garden pottering around or dozing in the shade. To see him progress as he has done, knowing that we have provided him with the space and time to do so, is an amazingly good feeling.⁣

We're also including photos of him sitting next to our bed, reminding us it is time to get up and feed him... …or relaxing in a doorway, now quite unperturbed by his humans.⁣

He has also taken quite a shine to Pallion, often giving an excited chirrup when he sees her. The feeling wasn’t reciprocal for a long time, she would hiss at him but she has now accepted him and they do now seem to enjoy chilling out together.⁣

One final photo, Pallion was another cat who wanted nothing to do with humans at first, but now frequently offers her lap-sitting services, when she isn’t bossing her humans around with her distinctive meows.” -Malc + Ray

❤️Clarkson’s Appeal: Left Behind, but Never Without Hope 😿

When we received the message, it was heartbreaking: a cat abandoned by his previous owners on an estate in Barking, left with nothing but a plastic flea collar around his neck. It was clear from the email that Clarkson’s situation was dire.

For weeks, kind-hearted residents fed him and offered shelter outdoors, but when Clarkson stopped coming out of his kennel and refused to eat, one of the feeders grew concerned. She bent down to check on him, only to be hit by the distinct, unbearable smell of rotting flesh. Desperate to save him, she called CHAT.

Our rescue team arrived to the scene, but Clarkson was hiding in a kennel too deep for us to reach. It took careful maneuvering to load the entire kennel into our van, with Clarkson still inside. We didn’t want to risk causing him any further pain.

Once he was safely in our care, the source of his agony became clear. The flea collar had been left on far too loose, which resulted in his front leg slipping through the collar which then became very tight, cutting deep into Clarkson’s arm and creating a massive, infected wound. The pain he must have endured is unimaginable, yet through it all, this sweet boy never lashed out.

He allowed us to cut the collar that was stretched around his neck and arm and begin treating him, his gentle nature shining through despite his suffering.

Please be aware that if you choose for your animal to wear a collar, use the "two finger rule" which means that you can only fit two fingers under the collar. It is the standard rule that helps to prevent the collar from fitting either too loose, or too tightly. If it's too loose, you could get a limb through and that is very dangerous. If it's too tight, you run several risks around this sensitive area.

Clarkson didn’t deserve this. No cat does! To be left behind, abandoned, and wind up in such pain, it’s unthinkable. And yet, even after all he’s been through, Clarkson continues to show us just how trusting and resilient he is. An absolute lovebug. ❤️

Now, Clarkson faces a long road to recovery. Wounds like his require months of intensive care, including:

- Round-the-clock monitoring to ensure his pain is managed.
- Daily wound flushing and bandage changes to promote healing and prevent infection.
- Antibiotics and specialized care to support his recovery.

However if Clarkson's painful wound does not show signs of improvement, eventually he may be in need of an axial flap to close the wound. A very expensive surgery. Only time will tell.

We are determined to give Clarkson the second chance he so desperately deserves, but we can’t do it without your help.

Will you sponsor Clarkson today and directly support his healing journey? Even the smallest amount will help to cover the cost of his ongoing treatment and help us continue to be there for more cats just like him.

💪🏼Together, we can show Clarkson that, although his past was full of pain, his future is full of love, care, and hope.

Because no animal should be left behind.

Thank you for your ongoing support. Donate now or share this post with friends to be a part of Clarkson’s story.

⚠️Trigger warning. Because some of the images of Clarkson's injury are very graphic in nature, we have included them in comments section of the post.

🐾Playful, affectionate, and always side by side—Natasha and Moonlight are the perfect duo for a family looking to add double the love to their home!🐾

Natasha and Moonlight are a delightful pair of sisters who arrived at our care with the rest of their family after their previous owner, overwhelmed by an abundance of unneutered cats, entrusted them to us.

These two cuties are truly special. With their unique wiry coats, they stand out in the sweetest way, and their unusual fur adds to their charm.

Both Natasha and Moonlight have warm, friendly personalities. They adore being around people and love sitting close by for company.

Natasha, the braver of the two, is always the first to come over for a fuss, with Moonlight close behind, eager for attention. These playful sisters are full of energy and enjoy chasing each other around, but when playtime is over, they can often be found snuggled up together in their bed.

Natasha and Moonlight are looking for a home with a garden to explore. They would happily share their new space with other cats and are also great with children. If you’re ready to welcome this charming duo into your life, they’ll bring endless joy and companionship!

Please email [email protected] with your name, address and contact phone number to register your interest in Natasha and Moonlight.

These handsome cats were part of a group of strays living in gardens. Most were feral, however Chesterfield and Chester were tame, if a little shy to start with. Very quickly though Chester (ginger/white )showed his affectionate side and is now a very calm and affectionate cat who will make a lovely pet.

Chesterfield (ginger) is more shy and is nervous of new situations and people and will probably take a few months to find his feet in a new home. But he already shows signs of being an affectionate cat and will come to you for strokes once he is relaxed. He is a purry boy. We are sure that the right person will find accompanying him on his journey to becoming a confident, happy boy to be a very rewarding experience.

A kind, patient adult home is sought for these precious boys together.

Please visit our website at CeliaHammond.org for more information about Chester and Chesterfield.

“We had owned and loved our previous cat for 19 years ... so needed some special cats to fill that gap. We adopted Oto and Puddle ( previously known as Gwen and Dylan) in early September from the Lewisham branch.

These two have been more than we could ever have wished for . Full of fun , loving and friendly. They adore being outside - climbing trees and investigating all the delights of the garden . But also love to play indoors and cuddle up on our laps . We love them so much ! 😍😍” Maria

“We adopted Melon (formerly Snow) from the Canning Town branch last June and she has absolutely transformed our lives.

As first time cat owners, we were a bit skeptical, but after we got approved, the CHAT team have matched us to the most perfect cat possible.

It took her a bit of time to get settled in with us, but is now flourishing and loving her new life with us. Although she’s not a lap cat, she likes to be in the same room as her humans, and will often be by your feet or sit next to you on the sofa.

She loves meeting new people, and we can’t imagine how we have survived before she came into our lives!” -Vanessa
