Poppy was taken into the vets to be euthanised three weeks ago. Our vets did not want that fate for her, so contacted us straight away to see if we could help 🥰

She was in a terrible state with a skin condition that had affected her walking and she was so sensitive to touch that she bit every time she was petted. She is eleven years of age.

She had been wearing a cone on her head for six months and was miserable and dejected.

She had received treatment at another charity, who to be fair had done everything they could do with their limited resources.

The condition she was in warranted a cruelty case - she had not been seen by a vet since June last year. The owners appeared to be well off and why she was being treated by a charity is a mystery.

Poppy was immediately treated by our vet and is now on expensive treatment until her condition settles down. She also needs an operation for a neglected hernia.

Within a week of being with us she was not biting herself, despite not wearing the cone, and was enjoying walks and very affectionate and trusting.

She still has a long way to go but we think Poppy will be ready to be homed in due course. She loves other dogs and is good with cats. If you would be interested in adopting Poppy please send a message to our page.

We had the very sad news that little Ted grew his wings over the holidays. He was the best character and loved by us and his family. RIP our little foxy man x x x

Happy New Year to all our wonderful clients and their humans. We thank you all for being with us and helping with our rescues and rehoming too.
This year we said goodbye to W***y our Chihuahua, our hamster Dash, my lovely Dad and recently those who remember, Jo’s dog Buster x
