If you're doing housework, you might as well clean the dog at the same time ...

Training an emergency stop can save your dog's life. It's quite easy to teach. Start off by getting your dog to 'freeze' when it hears your cue. You can add distance, duration and distraction later on. Here's Cheidle practising the basics.

RULE: if you're patient and calm, good things happen. Not an easy task for a dog who SO loves her food! No cue to "wait" or "gentle" or "leave it". Just good old fashioned self control. Well done Cheidle!
