If you know your dog might need a little extra care, here are our three top tips for helping your dog stay calm during bonfire night:
🏡 Choose a quiet location
If you know fireworks will be a feature this new year, move your pet to a quieter location if possible - a family member's or friend's house for example.
🎆 Create a quiet environment
Muffle sounds by shutting windows and doors. Close curtains to block out any flashes of light. If you cannot stay next to your pet, leave an item of clothing with your scent for comfort.
❤️ Use calming products
Thunder shirts, nutritional supplements and pheromone support can all help to calm your pets. Use calming products before your pet becomes stressed to be more effective.

While dogs are well known for being curious sniffers, the science behind it is down to their incredible scent receptors, of which there are about 220 million! By comparison, humans only have 5 million scent receptors.
But with so many smells to pick up on, not all are friendly to the nose - and scents like vinegar might be a little too strong for pups like this one.
