Approaching other dogs without consent is very anti-social and can be quite dangerous for humans and dogs alike.

You and your dog may be friendly, but that can not be said for all.

If your dog has perfect recall and returns to you when first called, then off lead roaming is perfectly acceptable. Otherwise, you run the risk of you and your dog getting into some dangerous situations.

Adequate socialisation is paramount from a young age.

It is our responsibility as owners to expose our dogs to as many dogs, animal, person and environment of all shape, size and colour.

What this does.for our dog is teaches them.what the world is about, what it looks like and how to appropriately act or respond in a variety of situations. It shows them that fear is not necessary and that allows them to carry themselves with confidence.

More importantly, this exposure gives YOU the chance to teach your dog the social etiquette you desire.

Continued socialisation throughout a dogs life solidifies confidence and comfort in social aspects of life. A dog can go from confident and calm to anxious and fearful without on going adequate socail interaction.

Regular walks with controlled social interaction - 3 seconds is enough time for your dog to "say hi", interact with and learn about another dog and continue their day.

A walk for a dog is much more than just abit of exercise, walking around, alone with their thoughts.

It is an opportunity to blow off steam, its a chance to embrace all the wild and wonderful smells of the environment around them - the smellier the better!

It's a chance to stretch their muscles in ways they just can't at home, such as digging, rolling around, jumping about.

Have you noticed your dog chewing items of clothing, pieces of furniture or destroying their toys?

Regular physical exercise will see repeated and on going behaviour problems decrease...
