Instead of buying caps that are the product of the shameful slaughter of black bears, the UK should set a compassionate example and switch to high-tech, luxurious faux fur.

So yesterday I was out walking my two dogs and two others on a public footpath. Coming towards me were two horses on the footpath (which is not a bridleway ) so I moved out of the way and went an alternative way round the field (this is at the back of tunnel Lane near the new bridge) to avoid them they then subsequently came up behind me. One of the ladies lives on Pasture Lane in the bungalow and the other lady I don’t know.

I was very annoyed with them they came up behind me and one of the dogs with me was surprised and ran up to one of the horses and spooked it (it didn’t Bolt) they were clearly annoyed with this.

But hang on, I was on the public footpath which horses are not allowed on and I moved off it to do an alternative route to allow them to pass and they then came up behind me with no care in the world they could see my four dogs were off the lead but got too close and funny enough I don’t have eyes in the back of my head. i told them i was not happy but didn’t push the point as at that point I wasn’t sure if the path was a footpath or bridal way but went to the very end on the main road nesr the allotments and is clearly a footpath.

Does anybody know the law if they are have been given permission to ride on the farmers land they can also ride of a public footpath.

If Anybody out walking their dog sees these riders on the footpath can you remind them that it is not a bridleway.

Grumble over

This poor fox was brought to us today by a lady after he was discovered wrapped in a football net on a school playing field. The netting was cut away but the fox was hypothermic and staggering. He had been in the net possibly since Saturday evening.

HIs neck was wrapped right in the netting so as a result the neck has swelled up and fluid has pooled under the skin. His eyes are also blood shot due to partial strangulation.
Our vet prescribed an injection of steroidal anti inflammatory medication and antibiotics and we have to now monitor him. His back is also sore, probably from thrashing about to get free.

Incidents like this can easily be avoided by pulling up football nets and securing them with rope or ties when not in use. We have had to rescue pigeons, foxes, badgers, deer and hedgehogs from nets in the past.

Fingers crossed for a quick recovery
