☀️Socialization!
So many people come to me saying they socialized their puppy by letting them meet every dog or person that came along. That is not socialization!
Socialization is exposing your dog to new sights and sounds while teaching them to be neutral around other dogs and people. This is why some people have “reactive” dogs. They have always let their dog go up to other dogs so every time they see a dog, their dog barks and pulls. Another is fear reactivity that can definitely be made from dog parks.
Anyway ti cut a long story short. If you want a neutral dog to bring on your errands and adventures, who only has eyes for you…proper socialization is key!!!

Just putting this out there

I was told several years ago, by a vet, that if you have a dog that runs off and won’t return to your call, to sit or lay down on the ground and call it again or pretend to cry. The dog will return to see if your alright.

I never had an opportunity to try this, until yesterday while I was walking our Penny. Across the street was a woman trying to get her dog to return to her, but it was just too interested in exploring the neighborhood. I told her about this trick so she sat down on the curb and called her. Sure enough the little love came running back at full speed!

She was thrilled and told me she would be sharing this with everyone she knew.

I was so happy, after all of these years, to test this out and find out that, at least in this case, it worked.

This may not be news to anyone else, but it was to me. I just thought it was worth sharing. 😊

Bottled water versus tap water

I would just like to put this out there for any animal owners that give their dogs tap water
My brother and i did an electrolyte water test
1 glass of filtered water and 1 glass of tap water
Here are the findings
Please reconsider giving ur beloved pets tap water

Not that we all need reminding but the weather is shortly going to be getting colder.
Your pooches don't care about the weather like we do they just want to get out and about.
