The purebred dog I purchased did not cause the death of another dog.
Buying me a purebred dog will not increase the number of dogs in shelters.
Just because I want a healthy dog โโwith a predictable temperament doesn't mean another dog won't be adopted to a shelter.
My thorough research of the most responsible breeders who met all requirements was not an issue. This is not something you should be angry about.
This is not your fault.
I am not the person who irresponsibly brought these dogs into the world and left them in a shelter.
Responsible breeders also donโt send these dogs to shelters.
This is my home, my life, the dog I chose and the dog I want to take there. Maybe I need a working dog, a sporting dog, a show dog, or just some kind of companion dog that is the perfect breed for me.
Regardless of why I choose to support a respected breeder, no animal welfare dog is left to die.
A breeder that has health checks, temperament and pedigree testing will not lead to an increase in the number of homeless dogs.
The number of homeless dogs in the world is a problem, but reputable breeders and buyers are not making the problem worse.
An even worse problem is that your neighbor quickly goes to some breeder abroad and buys a "purebred" dog without documentation because he is cheaper and poor there.
Your friend who spontaneously bought a puppy is exacerbating the problem.
This ambitious man soon spread some fashion designer concoctions, exacerbating the problem.
Your relatives have to "make their dog feel what motherhood means" or compound the problem because "she's so sweet."
Your old school friend buys a feisty Shepherd, doesn't take the time to research her needs and personality, and ultimately discovers that she doesn't fit his lifestyle, which exacerbates the problem.
A breeder with a good reputation provides lifetime support. A reputable breeder would never allow his dog to end up in an animal shelter.
If despite careful treatment and a new environment, it no longer fits your life or helps you find a new place, a serious breeder will take your dog back.
Sure, you're angry about the number of homeless dogs in the world, but if you look closely, you'll see that your anger is inappropriate.
If you look carefully, you'll find that reputable breeders and those of us who buy dogs from them are just as angry as you are.
We only blame the real criminals.
So true
