Here’s Myndy…. Very much back to her normal self 🥰

Last night while doing last checks of the evening we noticed there was something very wrong with Myndy. She was lay in her welping pen shivering with her head right back, she was very wobbly so we carried Myndy into the kitchen where her condition very quickly deteriorated. Her whole body was pulsating and she had a temperature of 43.5. At this point the vet was called. Within minutes I realised Myndy was suffering from what we call “Milk Fever”
A mad dash to the vets, bloods were taken and it was confirmed that Myndy was suffering from extremely low Calcium. Intravenous Calcium and Paracetamol were administered straight away.
The purpose of this post is to make people aware that breeding is not all puppy cuddles, it’s hard work and can be absolutely devastating. You have to have a real love for the job or don’t bother at all. It’s incredibly important to do those last checks, if we hadn’t of done ours then Myndy would most likely not be with us this morning. Luckily, quick thinking and knowing my dog saved her life along with our amazing vet! I cannot thank George at Hafren Vets enough, she is bloody amazing!
Please always go to a licensed breeder. We are regularly checked and have many rules and regulations that we have to adhere to.

Sorry for the lack of content recently. The weather is proving hard work and everything is either taking longer to do or just an absolute ball ache! The puppies can’t go out because it’s so wet everywhere so they are having ti be cleaned constantly. I feel like we are chasing our tail some days but hey ho… not to complain!

Did you know these 3 facts about puppies??
1) Puppies are born blind and deaf.
2) They cannot regulate their own temperature for the 1st 3/4 weeks of life.
3) They need help to go to the toilet. This is done by stimulation.
