So these two back in January gave me quite the scare, I nearly became a grandma! As you know I ended up in hospital at the end of December having emergency surgery, then my girl (Buddy’s girlfriend) came into season, which lasted 5 weeks!! Just out of precaution I got her scanned in Jan incase they managed to get to each other and the scan showed sacs!

I took her to the vet and they felt that if there was any pups in there that they weren’t formed and still cells. So I booked her in for emergency surgery for her to be neutered. TRUST ME, If the vets said the pups were formed and they could see heartbeats then I would of kept them, but I felt with so many dogs especially bull breeds being in rescue and I didn’t want to bring anymore into the world. Luckily when they neutered her, they checked and she wasn’t pregnant in the end! So it was all a big scare for nothing, but thank god she is now neutered and I’m not a granny!! 😅🐾💙

Spot the Buddy! Cleaning the bathroom and I am being watched, I thought Buddy’s sister were clingy, Buddy is a new level! When rescuing abused dogs there are certain things you have to deal with, like separation anxiety to which Buddy does a little p*e when I leave him and he isn’t in his special bed. My baby boy 🐾💙

From being scared, thin and exhausted to happy, fat and content 💙 thank you to everybody who has supported Buddy and I, we absolutely love each other and without you all he might not be here today as he may have died from his situation or PTS in rescue due to his breed. Let’s spare a thought to all the other babies that will be PTS. Here’s to the best year yet for Buddy! Cheers all 🍾🙏🏻

Happy Christmas Eve from Buddy the Bulldog. We are sorry we havnt been around for the past week or so unfortunately Buddy’s Mum (me!) ended up having her appendix out after a trip to A&E so it’s been fun and games here!! Two updates, obvisouly with things being like a Lampoon Christmas we are preying that Buddy and Lilo havnt had a sneaky hump, the vet things it’s very unlikely 🙏🏻 BUT the great news is Buddy has put on so much weight, he was 17kg when we rescued him, he is now 25kg!!!! A before and after picture to show the progress. We just wish we could rescue them all, with upcoming XL bully ban, so many poor souls will PTS or abandoned. If you can do anything, please do, support rescues. Merry Christmas everyone! 🐾

I’m trying to get some wrappping done and this is where Buddy has decided to have a post walk nap. I think I should have named him Baby not Buddy. He squeezed through my legs and has made my knee his pillow 🤣🥹

Buddy had his first day at school today AKA doggy daycare! Going here will help build his confidence and socialise him. He was the bestest boy, super well behaved and happy. What a good day that this went well! He is very tired now as you can see 💙🥹😅

Buddy is decorating his Christmas tree tonight whilst watching Buddy the Elf! He visited the vets this week and he has put on 2kg in weight, which is 10% of his body weight!! Vets are still 50/50 on if he fits the XL bully criteria but it’s absolutely imperative I get him the chop because my English bulldog has now come into to season, and each day is mission to stop any monkey Buisness and it’s slowly ageing me😭🙄 - Happy Saturday Everyone!

So this little monkey has taken quite the liking to my English bulldog. I only have girl dogs and was not expecting a boy dog to join our family so was waiting for my English bulldog to have another season to get done. Our Shepard was just done last month (thank god!!)…Anyway this morning has been spent splitting them up as they are trying to make little buddy babies!! Crikey let’s hope his weight will be enough soon to get him the chop! 🐾🐾🐾😭 p.s. I’m stressed and need wine already 🤷🏼‍♀️🥹

It’s been an interesting 48 hours, more of Buddy’s past life is emerging. He has resource guarding issues over his bed and his human attention, presumably because he hasn’t had this in abundance in the past. It’s okay though we are working on it and he is doing amazing.

And on our walk today I went to stroke him with a ball thrower in my hand and he cowered. I reassured him.

Anyway he has his big sister now who will protect him 🐺🐾💙

Buddy playing with two of his sisters, his two other big sisters were waiting for him at home. Look at his little face having fun, absolutely breaks my heart. He probably wouldn’t be here if he hadnt escaped, thank you to the neighbour who alerted us, your an angel 🪽👼😇
