We've had 10 guinea pigs in this week more have gone to foster homes but unfortunately I won't be taking anymore in until adoptions pick up x This also applies to rabbits

Because of the new strain of Rhd we are going to have to get everybun in rescue vaccinated.. They are all vaccinated against Rhd1 Rhd2 and mixy but it doesn't cover them against the new virus our account at the vets is empty due to Chester's emergency op and after care which is on going I don't know what I'm going to do

🐇 Calling all Rabbit owners 🐇

As many of you are now aware the is a highly variant strain of rabbit haemorrhagic viral disease that spread along the northern area of Europe. We highly suspect that this is already in the UK are advising clients to consider vaccinating their rabbits against this.

The current triple combination vaccination does not cover this highly virulent strain and therefore an additional vaccination is advised.

We are running a vaccination day using a multidose vial on Friday January 3rd 2025. We have a few timeslots left if you would like to book in the cost is £45 per rabbit.

Our staff will be wearing personal protection with gloves aprons m when handling your rabbits. Please do not be alarmed. This is to maintain bio security between such large numbers of rabbits on one day. Our tables as always will be fully cleaned down between every rabbit and e will be using two rooms to move between groups of rabbits.

Do you need to vaccinate?
All rabbits are at potential risk whether they are indoor or outdoor. RHD can be spread via fomites such as on your shoes or clothing particularly if you are walking dogs or walk out in fields near wild rabbits. The vitals has potential to survive for a long period of time although it is questionable whether or not it is deactivated by rain and uv lighting. At this stage in order to prevent an outbreak , it is advisable for all rabbits to be vaccinated against this highly violent strain in order to protect the Pet population of rabbits

Please note full payment will be required in advance of the day.

Please also note that a minimum of two weeks between any other vaccination and this vaccination will be required in order to secure safety margins of vaccines being given close together.

New clients are welcome to register at our practice and are eligible to receive this vaccination for histories will be required when transferring across to our practice.
