SNACK TIME! 😍
As you, probably already know, Easter eggs are not the best snack to share with your little pups, as they can get very ill 🤒
Instead, you can treat your little one with a super healthy carrot!🥕🥕🥕🥕
Raw and cooked carrots are healthy options for dogs and make a nutritious add-on to meals. While carrots are generally safe, it is important to cut whole carrots and even carrot sticks into bite-size chunks before feeding them to your dog. As a result, you will prevent choking, especially in small dogs.
Little Rolo sleeping with his carrot, just to prove the point 😉🥰

Cat is having its teeth cleaned by one of our wonderful vets!
Taking care of our pets’ teeth is as important as keeping our own teeth healthy! 🪥🦷
Did you know there’s a dental disease that’s so common it is found in more than a third of adult cats? It’s called FORL’s (Feline Oral Resorptive Lesion) featured in this video. This is when cells called odontoclasts start to destroy the surface of the tooth. It starts underneath the gum, making it very difficult to diagnose. It’s also very painful.

Listen to our Hospital Manager Luke on how to prepare for the XL bully ban
From 31 December 2023 breeding, selling, advertising, rehoming, abandoning, and allowing an XL bully dog to stray will be illegal in the UK.
Over the last few weeks, our surgery has received a lot of questions from concerned XL bully owners as the new regulations are now fast approaching for England and Wales.
First and foremost, we want to assure you that we will do our absolute best to support our clients throughout the entire process of registering their dog. Our goal is to care for all animals no matter what shape or size.
Here are the steps you must follow:
1- Confirm that your dog is classified as an XL bully
2- Apply for a Certificate of Exemption
3- Microchip your dog
4- Neuter your dog
5- Keep your dog on a lead and always muzzled when in public

This super cute ball of fur came to see our amazing vet Aurobind as he didn't feel very well 🤒
After placing a catheter in his ear we had to make sure he wasn't able to chew on it 😅
Result? Gavin didn't eat the catheter, he was comfortable and he left the clinic much brighter than he was when he came 😊

It's grass seed season!
⚠️It's grass seed season ⚠️
And this year, they are more visible as many commons around the country are being left to grow in a rewilding effort. This is why, as a dog owner, you need to be particularly careful when taking your dog for a walk! 🐶
These pointed grasses hide in long grass patches all around our parks. Their seeds are arrow-shaped and can enter a dog’s skin very easily! Once it’s in, they can travel through your pet’s tissues, causing infections and serious other health issues. Grass seeds can also enter your dog’s nose and get lodged in their throat or enter their lungs, which can prove fatal if not dealt with in time.
That’s why it’s important to check for grass seeds after your dog’s daily walk and be aware of signs of discomfort such as:
- Sneezing
- Shaking their head a lot
- Gnawing at their paw
- Scratching their ear
- Squinting one eye
If you spot any of the signs above, don’t delay bring your pet to our surgery immediately! Grass seed removal is a painless, stress-free procedure taking place under anaesthetic by one our highly trained healthcare professionals.
If you suspect your pet may have a grass seed injury, call us as soon as you can 0208 641 6126 or bring them straight in if they are in distress.
