Guppy the female lurcher puppy https://erinhounds.co.uk/?page_id=11241 still needs a home offer. We have been finding some wonderful homes for this litter of pups so we hope Guppy will be as lucky as her brothers and sisters. She is a well-rounded, well-socialised pup who has had a great upbringing so far and will make a lovely addition to a family. Due to her young age she could learn to live with cats. Ongoing behavioural advice and support is available to her adopter. Please contact us for further discussion.

Another of our dogs who has been waiting far too long is Rosie (Quote on the website https://erinhounds.co.uk/?page_id=10814 ). She is beautiful not just on the outside but is also a truly beautiful soul with not a bad bone in her body. In the home, she is a really easy dog. Sweet-natured, affectionate, quiet and compliant, she is housetrained and sleeps well at night. She adores people and other dogs alike, loves tummy tickles and toys but is also OK to be left for a few hours as she will settle and snooze happily. She has a fun side and is often to be found running around the house, hiding shoes and slippers, but never destroys them.
So why has she not been snapped up? It is simply her fear of traffic, loud noises and open spaces. Rosie always needs to be somewhere she feels safe and is extremely unwilling to step outside her comfort zone. This is not a major problem if she has a garden and easy access to the house. She is making slow progress in her foster home and goes for short walks outside the home, but obviously any new home would need to give her time and understand that she has to do things at her own pace. It is unlikely she will ever be a dog who is happy out and about in busy areas.
Her ideal home would be rural, away from busy roads and with a garden and access to a quiet walk. She would benefit from another dog or dogs to gain confidence from.
Her foster home will be happy to discuss with anyone who is interested.

Update from his fosterers:

Tebogo has just been away in our caravan for a few days and he is a lovely, gentle, easy going, very calm boy who will quickly bond.
He likes routine and is lovely to walk, although he can be a little keen to get going on the first walk of the day. He stays very close to your side when walking and stands still whilst picking up after he has toileted. He seems to prefer a regular short walk but also enjoys the occasional longer walk.
If stopping to chat, he stands uncomplainingly and is pleased to politely meet people but is not overly interested, preferring his people.
He is however always on alert and is particularly movement driven. He is generally not interested in other dogs and will ignore them, not reacting even when being barked at whilst walking past. He will lean in for comfort if unsure.
He will settle on his own but prefers company and likes to see what you're doing and 'help' with any day to day tasks such as inspecting the washing machine to make sure it's empty! He's now getting used to household appliances that beep. He likes a fuss and is happy being handled, which is good as the back of our car is high and he needs to be lifted in. He worries when children cry or scream when playing (such as on TV or in playgrounds), so he should live only with older calm children. He will need a garden / secure field for some off lead time as he does enjoy the occasional garden zoomie. He would make a great first greyhound but is most definitely not cat friendly.

*Reserved* Pike ( born June 2024) is a female lurcher puppy who is expected to grow into a medium-sized dog and so far seems a straightforward girl, being neither fearful nor overly confident and is a kennel favourite. Like all puppies she would benefit from a well behaved but tolerant dog to guide her as she develops into a pet but any home must be willing to socialise and oversee her development, including housetraining. Due to her young age she could live with dog- savvy cats and with older children but needs a home with someone around all the time. She is microchipped. NB neutering at an appropriate age is a non-negotiable part of the adoption agreement and will be overseen.

Bringing up a puppy requires a sense of humour, patience and commitment but if you can show that you have what it takes, please contact us.

Guppy ( born June 2024) is a female lurcher puppy who is expected to grow into a medium-sized dog and will mature into a wonderful pet under the tutelage of a sensible older but tolerant dog. Due to her age, she needs a home where someone is around all the time and willing to socialise and oversee her development, including housetraining. Due to her young age she could live with cats and with older children. She is microchipped. NB neutering at an appropriate age is a non-negotiable part of the adoption agreement and will be overseen.

Bringing up a puppy requires a sense of humour, patience and perseverance but if you and your resident canine have the home we are seeking for her, please contact us.

*Reserved* Opah ( born June 2024) is a female lurcher who is expected to grow into a medium-sized dog. So far, in her short life, she seems confident and inquisitive. Being a relative extrovert, we feel she could be an only dog but, due to her age, will need a home where someone is around all the time and willing to socialise and oversee her development, including housetraining. Due to her young age she could live with cats and with older children. She is microchipped. NB neutering at an appropriate age is a non-negotiable part of the adoption agreement and will be overseen.

Bringing up a puppy requires a sense of humour, patience and perseverance so don't just let her doe eyes sway you but if you have what it takes for her to become a happy and good canine citizen, please contact us.

Our beautiful girl Bug is still looking for a home. She's sweet, kind and loving and would like a quieter home as she's not overly keen on loud noises but she has no major issues and will make a wonderful companion for someone. Please contact us if you're interested.
