Welcome to Hadwell Hounds Dog Walking Services
My name is Lloyd Hadwell and I offer dog walking service in Maidenhead and surrounding villages, along with pet-sitting and limited dog boarding. I know your dog is part of your family and your most trustworthy friend. I treat every dog as if it was my own and understand the responsibility that comes with it understand and also appreciate how much ha
ppier a well-exercised dog can be. Group walks are balanced to ensure that everyone has a good time and I work to ensure each dog gets attention and affection that he or she deserves. I know we all love to walk our dogs, but with modern hectic lifestyles it is becoming ever more difficult to give them the exercise they both need and deserve. That’s where Hadwell Hounds come in. As you are no doubt aware dogs are pack animals, which means they need to exercise and mix with other dogs. If left alone for long periods of time a dog will become bored, and may also become anxious. Boredom can lead to scratched and chewed furniture, shredded carpets, or worse. Extended periods of anxiety can lead to your dog developing behavioural problems. If you are working full-time or have a family to take care of, it's almost impossible to find enough time for your dog each day. I will try to tailor my walks to your dog's individual personality. For some it's meeting new faces with waggy tails and others it's nose led country exploration. I also try and manage the walk timetable to ensure they get to walk with their new best friends. This means you come home to a very happy and content dog. Hadwell Hounds service agreement tells you exactly what to expect - so you can relax knowing I really take good care of your dog. I am fully insured, providing you with peace of mind and ensuring that, in the unlikely event that anything should occur in my care, your pet is fully covered.
“How do you do?”
You wouldn't hand over anything precious to a complete stranger, so it is very important that you meet, chat and are happy with the person who walks your dog. The consultation, which normally takes about 30 minutes, is where I introduce myself and we can chat about how I can meet the needs of you and your pet. I also get to meet your wet-nosed companion and we confirm that we are going to be good friends! Then there is just the small matter of paperwork… The Service Agreement lays out both parties' responsibilities so that you know exactly what to expect. I also need to make a note of the key information about your animal(s) and your vet. I will then normally leave the paperwork with you and take your dog on a trial walk with the pack and once everyone is happy then we can both sign the agreement and the vet release form. Services and costs. Group walks are great for socialisation and your dog enjoys plenty of exercise and interaction by running around with others in a controlled environment. I also do one-to-one walks for dogs that are difficult to control or just very timid. Dog walking
Nothing seems to get a dog's attention in quite the same way as when you tell them it's time for a walk. So the disappointment can be palpable when you can't take them out. I can solve your time problems by offering walks on a regular, occasional or one-off basis. Regular walks are vital to the well-being of your dog. The stimulation gained from exercise and social interaction leads to a healthier, happier and more peaceful pet. Where do we walk? All walks are in the countryside, in safe, bounded fields or in the woods. Dogs like their routine, but we are spoiled with multiple locations in Maidenhead and the surrounding villages so I try and mix up the setting and keep your dog stimulated to help avoid boredom and use many of the great parks and woods around our area most of which contain many different walks that will cater for your dogs individual needs. How long will we walk for? I will walk your dog for at least one Hour, so we will be out at least an hour and a half to two hours of interaction with pickup and drop off. In damp weather, all paws are cleaned on returning home and I check that your dog has fresh water and everything is secure. Dogs walk around 4 times as far as a human, off the lead. With the added pack social interaction and stimulating exploration, they are normally very tired and ready for a nap! In some cases we may walk for a full hour, if the dogs aren't already completely exhausted! How many dogs do I walk at a time? I walk no more than Six dogs at a time. What times do I walk? I walk three times a day at various times during weekdays. I try to be as flexible as possible to accommodate your individual needs with consideration to my other commitments.
£15 - Pack walk*
Mon – Fri 9:30am,12:30pm and 14:30pm
Bringing highly socialised and friendly dogs together, in a maximum pack size of four, enables them to get the exercise and play they need. This walk is suitable for almost everyone - some of the best play mates are seen in the oddest pairings.
*Note: If you have more than one dog, the price is £10 for the second from the same household. Two walks in the same day is also charged at the same rate of £25
£20 - Trial walk
Before committing and allowing your dog to join a pack walk i will often arrange a trial walk to acquaint ourselves first and this is on a one-to-one basis. Pet sitting. Your holiday, long-weekend or away-day is booked, but what do you do about your pet? Cats and other small animals would probably prefer to stay in their own home and order meals-on-wheels. So would lot of dogs, as long as they got a walk too! For most animals, staying in the home environment is preferable to kennels as the familiar surroundings reduce risks of stress, illness and disease. I can look after your cats, dogs, rabbits or other small animals in your own home. As a bonus your house looks like it is occupied, with people entering and leaving, curtains in action along with lights, post etc. All you need to do is make sure your pets' toys, food and litter are on hand. Kennel costs soon mount up if you have several pets, so I can save you a lot of money as the price is per day, rather than per animal.
£10 Per Pet Sitting Home visit
A 30 minute visit to feed your pet(s), provide fresh water, and change litter trays or clear up any accidents. It is also enough time to give your pet some attention too: petting, one-to-one interaction, stimulation and socialisation. All the things they need to make them happy. If you've recently introduced puppies or kittens into your home then this service can also be particularly useful when rearing the youngsters!
£35/Night Home Boarding
Your pets will never be left for more than four hours at a time during the day and will go on at least one pack walk a day. I may have other dog walking duties during the day but will endeavour pop back and check in whenever possible. Call me
