Introducing Clive!

He’s a Black Copper Marans cockerel, a breed known for their friendly and peaceful nature.

We picked up this stunning boy last week. His previous owner was worried about neighbour complaints as she is in a residential area.

We’ve been talking about getting a cockerel now we don’t have neighbours nearby as they are great protectors for the hens and when we saw Clive we fell in love ❤️

We’ve got him separate from the hens for now but have allowed them to mingle when we’re around.

He’s settling in really well and has been great so far with the girls. He dances for them (so glad he understands consent 😂) and lets them know when he’s found food. He’s even been trying to pass worms to them through the mesh separating the runs 🥹

Hi everyone! We’ve been so busy with the move that we’ve had very little time to update you on anything 😭

We’ll do a proper update soon so you can see the place we’ve moved to but for now we wanted to introduce you to some of our new chickens!

Back in November the lovely got in touch to see if we could have her hens as she was getting worried about them.

They were jumping over her fence daily into the neighbours gardens and there was a danger they could end up in the road or as a chew toy for some of the dogs that lived nearby 😱

They came to live with us and have been a great addition to our flock! Their names are Ethel, Billie, Brandy and Lulu. They are feisty girls! Billie has just recently started sitting on Matt’s lap 🥰

We’ve also got another chicken related update coming… I know you’re all at the edge of your seat, so I’ll get that to you asap!

Sadly we didn’t get Snow this Christmas… but he was just in time for New Year 🤣

We asked you a while back if we should get another cat…

So, this is Snow. He’s 4 years old, his hobbies include asking for head scratches, chasing twine and hiding under the bed when he needs to drain that sink.

He’s our final addition to the clowder. We’ve wanted him for years. We’ll share his story soon!

Right now he’s decompressing in his own room with regular visits from the hoomans.

Once he’s settled we’ll start introducing him to the rest of the clowder.
