This week we have been work on Bears reactivity to people on bikes. He is doing well and will now only react if they come up behind him and he didn't know they were coming.
Bear is coming to the end of his training with us and his rescue needs a foster to help Bear on his next step. If any can help please let us know and we can pass your information to the rescue.

Update on Bear. He has done so well, over the last few weeks and now is happier around new people. He now has a positive emotional response to new people. He has put some weight on and is looking great. We are still working on a small issue around people on bikes but it shouldn’t be long until Bear is ready for his next step. Bear will go into fosters where we can still help him with his ongoing training and make sure he is ready for his forever home. Any time you change the environment you can change behaviour, so him going into a foster home help us make sure that he can use all his new skill in the real world.

Bear has had his fictional assessment and we have started his rehab. Bear has shown no signs of aggression to anyone here but he does have a negative emotional response to new people approaching him on lead.

We have started him on a counter conditioning plan and making sure he never goes over his threshold. This will change the way he feels about people with the least amount of stress.

We have also started conditioning him to a muzzle for his vet trip to get his eyes looked checked.

Bear came in today from another kennel where he had shown some reactivity to people. We will let him settle in and then do a functional assessment This will help find out why he can be reactive and in what situation. With this information, we can make his behaviour modification plan. He did amazing on the transport run and there were no issues getting him to his kennel. Bear seems to have an issue with his eyes which we will get him to the vet as soon as possible.
