Pet Health Check – only £24.99!* 🩺

The festivities may be over, but your furry friends might still feel the effects! From gobbling goodies, to the excitement of visitors, the holiday season can take its toll.

💡Your pet can’t tell you what’s wrong, but we can:
☑️ Weight and body: That extra snacking, chilly weather and salty pavements can all add up!
☑️ Behaviour changes: The stress of changes in routine and noisy celebrations can affect your pet’s well-being.
☑️ Joints and mobility: Cold weather can affect mobility by making your pet’s joints stiff and painful.

Our expert veterinary nurses can spot and address any potential concerns early to ensure your pet starts the New Year healthy and happy! 🥳

Book a pet Health Check here: https://FindAHealthCheck.softr.app

*For well dog, cats and rabbits only. Please book a consultation if your pet is ill. Full T&Cs on the Offer page on the website.

Pedro would like to share his top tips for keeping your cats teeth clean 🦷🪥

🐾 Get your cat used to the idea of having their teeth brushed. Keep the sessions short and positive. Gently massage the gums with your finger or a cotton swab

🐾 Use a toothbrush designed especially for cats, they are smaller than a human toothbrush and have softer bristles

🐾 Toothbrushes that you can wear over your finger are also available

🐾 Use toothpaste designed for cats, using your own toothpaste can cause distress and upset your cat’s stomach, these are often available in chicken flavour!

🐾 Be sure to reward your cat for being so patient with either a treat or play. This will let them know that they did a good job, as well as help make future brushings easier on you both ❤️

Cheeky Charlie ❤️🐾

Charlie came to see our nurses today to have his Suprelorin implant

Suprelorin is a hormonal implant that temporarily makes dogs infertile. It is a non-surgical alternative to Castration ✂️

The implant works by slowly releasing deslorelin acetate to prevent the production of testosterone and other s*x hormones

The implant is inserted subcutaneously, under the loose skin on the back between the lower neck and the lumbar area in dogs and can be done whilst conscious

Suprelorin effects can be seen at about six weeks in dogs and last between 6-12 months

Charlie was a very brave boy today and had lots of fuss and distractions from the nurses whilst it was implanted ❤️🐾 he even gave Jane lots of sloppy kisses afterwards

If you are considering neutering your male dog and would like more information regarding the chemical Castration you can book a consultation with one of our vets to discuss

The Dreamie Protector
A.k.a T.C

The most handsome 17 (nearly 18) year old there is!! 😍

Apart from being a little on the larger size 🙄(cough cough 7kg) this handsome feline passed his recent MOT with flying colours!

Although not a fan of having his bloods taken, it seemed singing "twinkle twinkle little star" proved a fabulous distraction for TC whilst the nurses took his blood sample!

A few dreamies later and all was forgotten!

Gorgeous little Reggie starting off our week by being such a good boy for his blood tests 🐾❤️

Reggie suffers with a condition known as Epilepsy

Epilepsy can be caused by a number of things such as head trauma, brain tumors, or other diseases, but often there's no obvious cause 😕

When there's no obvious cause, it's called idiopathic epilepsy, which can be linked to genetics

Reggie has regular blood tests to monitor his condition and to ensure he is on the correct dose of his medication to prevent seizures

He was quite keen to have his photo taken in exchange for some bum scratches and gravy bones 🐶🥰

Sibling Love ❤️🐾

Fabulous Fergie (Ginger) and Epic Eric (Tabby) both came in to be neutered today

Both underwent a general anaesthetic together and helped each other recover on the wards 🥰

It seems having your best pal with you helps for a smooth recovery

Both little cuties had full tummy's and lots of cuddles before they went home!

We are looking forward to seeing them for their post op checks at the end of the week 🐱❤️

The beautiful Mavis arriving this afternoon for her monthly Solenisa injection.

Aren't those big eyes so purrretty 😍😍

Mavis comes to see us every 4 weeks to have her Solensia injection 💉

Solensia is used to treats symptoms of Osteoarthritis in cats, and is given under the skin. It helps to improve mobility and joint pain 🐾

Mavis is always such a good girl for her injections and makes our job easy ❤️
