When you book a Barking Mad holiday, you can be confident your dogs’ are going to have as good a time as you! It’s really important to get to know you and your dog, especially in the beginning. We’ll come to your home and you can tell us all about your day-to-day routines for feeding and exercising so we can replicate this for your dog. We’ll chat abo

ut likes, dislikes, quirks and personality plus any healthcare requirements. We make absolutely sure we understand your dogs’ individual needs and lifestyle. By the end of our meeting, which usually takes around an hour, we’ll all have all the information we need to make the perfect host family match. Selecting the right host family is very important and your input into this process is invaluable. You will want to know where your dog is going, so during our time together you are going to see profiles all of our dog-loving families. They are just like you and me, and guaranteed to meet our extremely high home boarding standards.

Every year, we see posts circulating on social media about rapeseed being extremely dangerous for dogs ⚠️

This understandably worries many dog owners. Many posts advise that even walking through a rapeseed field with a dog can cause burn-like skin abrasions and other serious issues.

Thankfully, these extreme reactions are rare, and although some dogs may react like this if they're particularly sensitive to the plants, the vast majority of dogs will not suffer ill effects from walking through a rapeseed field 🐕

However, we wouldn't advise allowing dogs to eat the plant, as it can cause upset tummies if ingested.

Please do not panic if your dog has been in recent contact with rapeseed, but if your pet is experiencing any unusual symptoms, we would always advise you to get in touch with your vet.

Hope to see you tomorrow afternoon at the girlguiding St George’s Day Fun Day in Worthington Park.

We will be holding a raffle to raise money for GirlGuiding. Our hamper is jam packed with things your dog will love including a microfibre towel, treat ball, car seat belt, travel water bowl, bouncy ball, lickimat, Barking Mad bandana, harness light, snuffle ball, crinkle octopus toy, and a pet bowl sponge! Wow!

Only £1 a strip and we will make the draw at 3.45pm on the stall.

Dont worry if you don’t have a dog of your own for this prize - ask us about hosting holidaying dogs and with your permission if you win we will donate the hamper to the charity Hearing Dogs for Deaf People.

When you book a Barking Mad holiday, you can be confident your dogs’ are going to have as good a time as you - although secretly we hope it’s even better! Who’s who - It’s really important to get to know you and your dog, especially in the beginning. We’ll come to you and over a cup of tea you can tell us all about your day-to-day routines for feeding and exercising so we can replicate this for your dog. We’ll chat about likes (usually a lot), dislikes (usually the postman) and any healthcare requirements. By the second chocolate digestive we’ve started to understand your dogs’ individual needs and lifestyle. By the end of our meeting, which usually takes around an hour, we’ll all be getting along famously. Oh and don’t worry, we love dogs of all shapes and sizes, pedigree, Heinz 57 or rescue. They can sleep in the bedroom, pull on the lead, or even hide your favourite socks. As long as they are friendly we’ll get along just fine. Holiday home - Selecting the right host family is very important and your input into this process is invaluable. You will want to know where your dog is going, so during our time together you are going to see all of our dog-loving families. They are just like you and me, and guaranteed to meet our extremely high pet sitting standards. Together we’ll make the right choice, and you can decide whether your best friend stays in a home with or without a resident dog, depending on his needs.
