Today Positive paws were out and about doing rural trails.

Little Ralpie has had 6 months off, he clearly remembered this game as he hit the warm up at full pelt and then completed a lovely trail with plenty of twists and turns. He then had a go at line casting. He has cast before but not a line. Paw perfect. Welcome back Ralphie.

Elwood has also had a break due to holidays, with a lovely steady trail through the woods involving plenty of turns. Finishing off with a line cast which has done before but not for quite a while. He was super.

Otis is new to us and has done quite a bit of trailing, so has joined us for the change of scenery. Again nice steady trailing from a novel article. Followed by his 1st line cast.

All the dogs were paw perfect today. The weather was comfortable and the ground was dry with no wind.

Well done teams. You were all fantastic.

🐾🐾 Congratulations 👏 to Jo and Beryl who competed at Ditton DTC Open Rally Competition in Kent on Saturday.
They acheived a qualifying score in Level 1 giving them their KC RL1 Title.
They also acheived a qualifying score in in Level 2.

Yesterday 4 teams from positive paws were out and about trailing.
They had obtained special permission to track trail through the church paths and into the church. This was a super venue as the church and surrounds were lovely and cool and allowed us to trail.
The church warden was so happy to see the church used she agreed to take part and be our hide for the decoy trail.
All the dogs excelled going into and out of the church through the grounds even locating the Misper in the WC.
It was interesting for the handlers to see how the dogs indicated on the gates and doors working through the scent pools with the changes of temperature in the church and outside in the shade.
The afternoon session all the teams had a go at searching the church they successfully found all the hides with some super indications.
Well done to teams Mollie, Molly, Dylan and Gunner.

Yesterday saw 5 teams from Positive Paws out tracking and trailing.
We were lucky in that we had picked a nice wooded area to train as the sun had decided to come out to play again. So the shade allowed us to carry on.
Team Tyler completed UKSS level 1 rural assessment .
Team Eden and Zanzi completed longer and aged trails. Taking junctions in the woodland trails beautifully.
Zanzi is an enthusiastic boy and his handler has worked really hard to harness this enthusiasm into nice accurate worker.
Meanwhile Eden adores her trailing, but worries bout the environment her handler deals with this really well picking suitable venues to get the best out of this beautiful girl.
Teams Jess and Fran are relatively new to tracking trailing so we are utilising a variety of techniques and different rewards to develop these two little girls into lovely accurate workers.
Not easy for the handler having 2 dogs who work so differently so the handler is working to keep detailed records of both.
All teams worked brilliantly yesterday and I am so pleased with them.

Doug sadly passed away on Sunday.
He was a great friend and mentor along with his wife Sandra at the start of my dog training journey in 1988 as a handler & then an Instructor.
Thank you for all your support over many years.
It is a great loss. 💔
Condolences to his family at this sad time.
