The 12 Hazards of Christmas for your dogs! 🐶🎄🎅

1. 🍫 Chocolate - keep those human treats up and out of the way, chocolate can be poisonous to dogs
2. 🍇 Christmas pudding and mince pies- sultanas, raisins and grapes can cause acute kidney injury to dogs
3. 🥜 Nuts - nuts and their shells can be a choking hazard for dogs, macadamia nuts in particular can also cause side effects such as vomiting and weakness if ingested
4. 🦴 Bones - cooked bones can become brittle and fracture causing all sorts of problems for your dogs, keep them in the bin and any bin bags secure out of their way
5. 🧸 Toys - many children's toys have small parts, make sure they are all accounted for and cleared away if your dogs are left on there own
6.🌵 Plants - holly, ivy and mistletoe can be toxic to your pets
7. 🎁 Wrapping and Decorations 🎄 - the shiny wrapping and tinsel can be irresistible to your pets, be careful as ingesting it can cause life threatening blockages
8. 🧂 Salt - or rock salt in particular, used to de-ice roads and pavements, make sure you wipe your dogs feet, legs and tummies after walks
9. 🍺 Alcohol - this can be toxic as well, make sure glasses are kept out of reach
10. 🔋 Batteries - with lots of new toys comes lots of batteries, keep them safely locked away as they can cause chemical burns, blockages and metal poisoning
11. 💡 Fairy Lights - your pets can quickly become tangled whilst being inquisitive! be careful if you have replaceable bulbs as these can cause injury if the are swallowed
12. 🧅 Onions - and products containing onion can cause tummy upset and even anaemia, this includes the related veggies of leeks, garlic and spring onions

If you dogs have eaten anything the shouldn't have, monitor them closely and get veterinary advice immediately
