My poor chicken has become favourite of the cockerel. So I made her a little chicken saddle to cover her back to help feather regrowth. These are avaliable to order from me if needed.

The one job I hate but needs to be done. Cleaning incubators. Look how much duckling fluff is in there! They are only in there for 24/48 hours 😬

Lots going on here today. All the outdoors chickens have been mover to fresh grass before our weekend away. The chicks have been let out for the 1st time. The ducklings have been given a bigger pen with some new neighbours 🦆

They take 28 days to hatch.
They are used mainly as a festive dinner.

It has been decided that for the time being we are only going to be offering Chicken eggs to hatch. Duck eggs are having a really low hatch rate at the moment.

Who's children loves dippy eggs? Just think around 25 weeks after hatching you could have the first chicken egg.

When you receive this at 7am it really makes this little business worth while. This lady had duck eggs and was a bit worried they were going to hatch. Yesterday, they both decided to make an appearance. Nature can be cruel sometimes but when it's kind it's a joy to be around.

This little duckie hatched earlier then the rest of my stuff due to hatch, so he's in a quick build pen to stay in the house for the time being. Tomorrow he's heading off to another hatcher to live with her only hatch so far.
