Losing a pet is one of the hardest things you can go through, and it’s something we’ve felt ourselves.
When our own boy Dookie passed in September, it confirmed that we’re doing this job for the right reasons — one of which is to make sure every pet is treated like our own 🐶🐱

Every pet who comes to us is cared for with the same love and respect we’d want for Dookie 🙏🏼

That’s why we encourage families to come to the crematorium if they can. We feel it helps to see where your pet will be and who will be caring for them. It can bring a bit of comfort and reassurance to know they’re in safe, gentle hands 🤍

We’ll be sharing a bit more on here soon about what we do and what makes Eildon View special ✨

Hi everyone 🤍
We’ve been a little quiet on here recently, taking some time for reflection and to focus on the families we’re caring for each day 🐾

This year has reminded us personally just how deeply our pets shape our lives — and how their love stays with us…always 🙏🏼

As Christmas approaches, we know this can be a tender time for anyone missing a much-loved pet. Whether it’s a quiet space at home or a walk that feels a little emptier, those memories are never far away ✨

From our hearts to yours, we’re sending gentle thoughts, comfort, and warmth to every family remembering a special friend this season 🎄

We also promise to be a LOT more present on our Facebook 🥰

Dookie, 4,133 days on this earth together yet it’s never going to be enough 🖤

On Saturday, 6th September 2025 we made the hardest decision to let oor wee Dooks go to sleep 🐾

Strangely, we are at peace with this decision but it doesn’t make it any easier…it’s not just one day at a time but 10 minutes at a time 🤍

We love you forever Dooks and we know just how many friends you’ve got over there waiting for you now. We have no doubt you’ll look after each and every one the way you’ve looked after us (with a waggy tail and spikey ball) 🌈

P.S please don’t be offended at us not replying straight away, we’re going to take some time to honour our boy 💚

🤍 You’re not alone 🤍

On the way to the work today, we heard on the radio that the RSPCA had carried out a big survey on pet loss so we looked it up as soon as we got into work, and the findings truly resonated with us - and we think they might resonate with you too 🫶🏼

🌿 Some of the key findings:

✨ Fewer than 1% of people said they saw their pet as ‘just a pet’
Most described them as family (60%) best friends (32%) or companions (8%)
✨ Nearly 3/4 of people have experienced anticipatory grief – the sorrow that comes when imagining life without a beloved pet
✨ 2/3 of people said they were shocked by how intense their grief felt after a loss
✨ Over 90% or people described feeling heartbroken or deeply sad, with many also sharing feelings of guilt, loneliness, anxiety, or depression

These results mirror exactly what we see at the crematorium - pets aren’t ‘just pets’
They are our family and saying goodbye can be one of the hardest things we ever go through and we personally understand this too 💔

From our own experience both as a family and through the families we support everyday, we understand just how hard it can be.
We are always here with a safe space to remember our best friends and please remember you’re never alone 💚

Dookie: 1 Odds: 0 😅

We just want to say a massive thank you to everyone who reached out, messaged, and kept our wee Dookie in their thoughts over the past 2 weeks 🙏🏼 🐶

Dookie spent six nights in the ICU at Veterinary Specialists Scotland and for a while we really thought we were going to lose him 🥺

It was one of the hardest weeks we’ve ever faced—but like typical Dooks, he’s pulled through and surprised us all once again. He continues to be such an anomaly, defying the odds and keeping everyone (vets included) on their toes 🙊🤩

Dookie came home this week and although he’s not quite 100% he’s comfortable (as you can see 🤣), surrounded by love, and getting plenty of cuddles 🐾

We are endlessly grateful to the amazing team at the VSS & Galedin Veterinary- Small Animal who took such incredible care of him—they were both nothing short of brilliant 🩷

Thank you again for all the love and concern.
You all know Dookie means the world to us, and it’s clear he means a lot to many of you too 🐶 💚
