All that glitters IS NOT gold ………
Christmas is the time that well meaning friends and family buy treats like these as Christmas presents for your dog. Their festive colours and shapes attract people to buy them, unaware of the danger these kind of treats can cause to dogs.
These rawhide type treats start their life as an animal hide, normally beef or pork, in China. They are soaked in toxic chemicals such as Sodium Sulphide to remove the hair and fats before more chemicals are added to split the hide. They are then washed in Hydrogen Peroxide and bleach to produce the “healthy” white colour before having colourings and glue added to them to turn them into a pretty Christmas tree.

If this wasn’t enough your dog is at high risk of choking and intestinal blockages should they eat one.
Do your dog a favour and ask friends and relatives to buy a healthier, safer alternative, or if your dog is unlucky enough to have these on Christmas Day be sure to place them safely in your wheelie bin, the treats, not your dog 😂
