CHAPS Graded Stallion Lostock Candyman owned & bred by Caroline Hamilton & shown by Cutts.
8yr old Candyman is by the superb sire Lostock Huntsman and out of CHAPS Gold Graded Mare Wisteria Lane - they qualified at Royal Lancashire Show

Keeping it a family affair is 3yr old son of Lostock Candyman, Willowsway Mr Brightside, owned by Jaki Attril & bred by Willowsway Stud
Mr Brightside is out of Freckleton She’s All That.
They qualified at NPS Great British In Hand Show

Youngstock Evaluations

Declarations for Evaluation times will be taken on Show Day & MUST be made in the Show Office before 10am on Show Day.
YE’s will run from 10:30am & there will be a 30minute lunch break for Evaluators at 12noon
3yr old Performance Evaluations entered for SJ or Eventing sections will be expected to loose jump.

All 1st Premium exhibits from the YE classes PLUS all 1st Premium exhibits from current year’s CHAPS Regionals/Spring Festival are eligible to go forward to the Hightopps Stud Youngstock Evaluations Championship in the Thursday Evening Performance.
All eligible exhibits must declare their intention to compete in the Championship in the Show Office before 3pm on Thursday.

CALLING ALL FOAL OWNERS 🦄

As per competitors request, we have added Foal Futurity Classes to our Championship Show schedule. The final will be judged in Thursday nights evening performance in the Main Arena - with up to £250 prize money to be won across the sections! 💸

We have very little entries, so please, please, please support this class!

IMPORTANT RULE INFORMATION FOR THE CHAMPIONSHIP SHOW 📣

⭐️Please be reminded that for all classes with the exception of the Dressage & Classes 157 - 164 and HOYS classes that ALL OWNERS and RIDERS must be CHAPS UK Showing Members and the horses must be registered in the current owners name with CHAPS UK. Checks will be carried out prior to the show.

⭐️ All HOYS classes require membership for either CHAPS TSR OR TGCA Horses have to be registered with CHAPS unless 148cms and under and they can be registered TGCA. All stallions to be graded with CHAPS UK

⭐️Exhibitors are required by DEFRA to carry with them Official Identity Documents for all horses/ponies when competing or travelling.
Competitors are reminded that it is a DEFRA requirement that the Official Identity Documents must be in the name of the legal owner within 30 days of ownership. This must be registered with the breed society, relevant studbook or ID issuing agency, depending on breed/type of animal. Spot checks may be carried out at the Show.

CHAPS UK Autumn Stallion & Mare Grading

The closing date for the above grading has actually passed, but due to the incredibly low entries this will be extended to Wednesday 7th August at 5pm - however PSSM1 testing certificates must be available & all CHAPS Overstamping/Membership forms in place.

The Grading will take place on Wednesday 14th August 2024 at Arena Uk, Allington Lane, Allington.

What an absolutely fabulous Royal Windsor Horse Show for CHAPS UK Graded Stallions
SD Red Gambler owned by Hannah Miller-Burton & ridden by Kaitlyn Fairhurst delighted crowds to clinch the Coloured Ridden Championship as a second placed combination. Earlier in the day the 11yr old stallion had also finished reserve in the in-hand championship handled by Philip Ward-Burton.
Six year old Monivae Black Magic, owned & bred by Pippa Kirby & ridden by her daughter Isabella Kirby won the NCT Pony class at the show & then went on to become section Reserves.
Monivea Black Magic is by HOYS Winning stallion Boston out of the prolific winning mare ChantillyLace.
The Coloured In Hand Championship was won by Caroline Hamilton’s homebred Lostock Candyman & shown by John Cutts. Candyman is by Lostock Huntsman & a grandson of Lostock Blue and out of CHAPS UK Gold Graded Mare Wisteria Lane.

An excellent day at CHAPS U.K. SPRING SHOW & STALLION GRADING held Myerscough International Equine Arena.

A huge Thank you to North West Equine Vets Ltd Paul Wightman-Smith; our Graders for the day: Rick Grace, Caroline Hamilton, John Helme, Lester Miller & Daniel Park
We had 7 stallions entered - 6 forward.

Following on from an incident during the CHAPS UK classes, held at the Royal Welsh Winter Fair 2023, it has been concluded that the winning competitor has been disqualified from the class and championship under the CHAPS UK ‘Good Conduct Discipline and Complaints Process’. It was found that this contravened point two, stating that ‘no member of CHAPS UK shall conduct himself/herself in a manner, or be guilty of behaviour, which is derogatory to the character or prejudicial to the interest of CHAPS UK.

Subsequently the Royal Welsh Agricultural Society has thoroughly reviewed the incident and will endorse the recommendations by CHAPS UK as the affiliated Breed Society to this class.

Marketing Vacancy 💻

We have a vacancy on the CHAPS UK Board of Directors for someone to run the marketing aspects of our society. This is a voluntary post and we are looking for someone who is enthusiastic about coloured horses and ponies to help with advertising and marketing our events, society, merchandise etc.

The ideal person will be responsible for

• Creating artwork and social media posts
• Managing our social media channels and helping to answer enquiries
• Advertising our regional shows, gradings and other events
• Collating articles and information for our annual journal
• Providing relevant magazines with monthly written content
• Helping with the admin side of our annual awards (creating the online nomination form and collating the nominations)
• Attend meetings with the other Directors (Via Zoom)
• The ability to update a Wordpress website would be a bonus
