Stewart park scent workshop!
We had the added distraction of a race and all dogs are normaly very distracted by birds so the pond area was a big challenge but Archie, Atticus and Lola smashed it!

Meet Frieda!
She’s a MaliXDutch herder. She has a big tendency to pull on the lead, especially when she initially heads out for the walk. She can also be reactive with some dogs. Her owner was finding it hard to train for these behaviours as Frieda showed no interest in rewards when on a walk. Her lack of interest in a reward appeared to be down to her feeling overwhelmed by the outside environment, particularly when she’s on her lead.
This video was taken in her second session where we started to work on heading outside and taking treats at the front of the house. She did amazing and we managed to get onto the drive with her walking nicely and taking a treat every time 💚💜

Elvis is doing amazing with his puppy training and his confidence is building nicely.
He’s even improved around older dog Elsie and is much better at giving her space and understanding her boundaries. Elsie even got involved in this session when we did some focus training (evidence will be posted at a later date)

We’d like to give a shout out to Jordan on this day of celebrating love 📣
People come to Social Focus for a variety of reasons. Jordan started coming due to his reactivity and some general anxiety. In his first session he coped really well with reduced visual of the other dogs but was quite scared of attempting a tunnel (a big step for a lot of dogs). This week he attended his third session and I’d say he’s aced it 💫

Meet Oakey! Oakey came to Dakota’s choice on a behaviour plan because he was struggling with other dogs, and getting a bit worried about new people. We have been working hard with Oakey and his owners are fully committed to his training. Today we introduced Oakey to Nala (Charlottes dog), as you can see it was a complete success and Oakey and Nala became good friends. So proud of him! 🐾🐶

Meet Bear 🌟
Bear started his behaviour program in October to work on a few things. We’re 3 sessions in and his owners are noticing some big improvements;
⭐️ Increased focus and engagement with them, both at home and on walks
⭐️ Calmer when getting ready for a walk
⭐️ Will now take treats when walking
⭐️ Pulls less on the lead
Plus he absolutely loves his training! Here’s a cute little video of us adding some agility into his routine with ‘rocking around the Christmas tree’ 🎄

We well and truly got to demonstrate our ability to adapt on Sunday as our Scent Train was on strike! 🚂😅
With an impromptu set up in the visitors centre instead, our dogs showed their true skills of scent detection under a lot of distraction and they blew us away 🌟
Gold stars to Rosie, Rolo and Rosie for successfully performing with the distractions of a cafe at one side and toilet entrance on the other 👀
The Scent Train has been rescheduled for Sunday 28th January for those of you wishing to book back on 💚
Meet Bay. Although we can only see the back of this handsome lad, his owners came to me because they wanted help with his anxiety and his tendency to pull on the lead!
Here is a lovely video of his progress. Safe to say Bay is learning that walking nicely on a lead brings nice rewards! 🐾🐶
Total recall was a total success on Sunday! Both dogs smashed it and we even added in some pair work to challenge the recall strength even further! 🐶

Meet Charlie!
Charlie is nervous of other dogs and we have been working hard to build his confidence so that he can go out for walks without being worried of seeing another dog on his travels!
Today we took a huge step in his training - he was able to walk and take a treat - which previously he wouldn’t have been able to do!
