Middlesbrough Dog Club

Middlesbrough Dog Club For over 60 years we have been providing dog training services in and around Middlesbrough. Using fun, reward based, methods of training.

Our Classes

Are fun and friendly, using modern, motivational methods. We offer the opportunity for you and your dog to enjoy training alongside other pet owners, in a relaxed atmosphere providing the foundations for a lifetime of happy and responsible dog ownership. Our reward based methods are kind and painless for your dog and have been scientifically proved to work more effectively than other

conventional, corrective methods. Our methods can be used by the whole family, although of course children should always be supervised when training the dog. Our trainers backgrounds also include competing in the main dog sports of Obedience, Rally, Agility and Flyball with our own dogs. Training is delivered by a qualified Pet Dog Training Instructor who also holds qualifications as an adult tutor and in clicker training. She has over 15 years' experience of helping others with their dogs, as well as more than 35 years' experience with her own dogs

Clicker training is offered as an option in all classes

You may receive an email from Petchip.network advising that your pet’s microchip registration has expired and you need to pay for it to be updated – PLEASE IGNORE. THIS IS A SCAM. The email comes with a link taking you to a page showing your pet’s name, microchip number, your contact phone number and looks very convincing. PLEASE IGNORE.

There is a list of approved databases on gov.uk: Get your dog or cat microchipped - GOV.UK

Typically you would only pay a fee or first registering your pet or if you contact the company to update your details .

It is important to keep your pet’s microchip contact details up-to-date including if you move address or change phone number/ email address. Please contact your microchip provider direct to update your details.

🎄Salt dough ornaments🎄

At this time of year, we start to see an increase in the volume of calls regarding salt dough ornaments. Whilst they make a great gift and can look lovely out on display, did you know that they can be very dangerous to your pet?

These ornaments often contain large amounts of salt, which when ingested can lead to toxicity.
High levels of salt may result in vomiting and diarrhoea, depression, tremors, excessive thirst and dehydration. There may also be weakness, in-coordination and wobbliness as well as high blood pressure. In severe cases muscular rigidity, seizures, coma and kidney failure can occur.

In order to keep your pet safe this Christmas, please ensure that all salt dough decorations are kept well out of reach and reach out for advice if you are concerned.
