✨🩷💐Appreciation Post 💐🩷✨
Never will I not recommend Stacey Lowther of New Beginings for any ground work !! She is amazing and so incredibly knowledgeable of horses.
I've known Stacey for years now and it's only been in the past few months that we've started having weekly sessions with her - actually thanks to bumping in and chatting to her through doing my services!
The difference in Fabio, who is such a sensitive soul, has been so amazing to see and there's definitely still more to come! Stacey has provided us both with confidence from the ground up. She talks through everything from the behaviour, to how to respond and overcome it, and actively gets you involved in the session.
This week I'd asked if we could start canter work in our sessions as Fabio had been rushing his left rein canter transition, and then having zoomies - which I thought was maybe due to a weakness on that rein as I only re-introduced canter work at the start of this month after bringing him back into work in September.
Anyway, here's what Fabio thought to that - rushing where? 🤣
No gadgets, just a halter, rope and groundwork !
What a joy it is having horses in this weather 🤌🏻🌧️🤣
Not my usual post, but an important one nonetheless !!!
After being within centimetres of being hit by a van less than a hundred metres before this, I persuaded my boyfriend who was walking out with me to film how cars passed us by.
This bit of the road (Far Common Road, Roberttown) is ultimately a blind bend. People overtaking me on this bend, which are for one far too close, cannot see what is oncoming towards them. I cannot even see when I'm riding what is coming up until I'm on the straight. But, this incident today - of multiple cars - is a regular occurrence.
Unfortunately the camera did not capture the black Nissan Qashqai nearly colliding with the red car coming on the opposite side of the road. So not only posing a danger to me and my horse, but to the other car, themselves and most likely my boyfriend who was walking on the pavement if one of the cars had swerved.
I am so thankful to my horse, that he does not bat an eyelid to people's idiocy and arrogance. (Or, mind me ranting about people's bad driving)
Bad and entitled drivers are making the roads dangerous to be on. I do not want to ride on the road, most riders do not want to ride on the road. But, unfortunately we have to in order to access bridleways.
Slowing down for a horse, and passing wide will probably add on an extra two minutes on to your journey. I don't want to hold drivers up, as much as drivers don't want to be stuck behind me - but it is a necessity.
I will always be beyond thankful to those drivers that pass with care.
I have also noticed that within probably less than a three mile radius from my yard there are around five or six other horse yards, who I'm sure also use the roads. Yet, there is not one single 'horse rider' sign in Roberttown and Hartshead that I can recall seeing, and there should be. This is something that I will be writing to the council about. If anyone has any footage around this area, please send it in to the council / police or equally to me, and I w
can you tell this is his favourite 🤭🌿🥦
showjumping ➡️ first try at polocrosse ➡️ hacking 🥰
Busy day yesterday, but all horses were great to ride🫶🏻
please note - all horses in the video are infact boys despite my song choice 😆🤭
Great lesson today on my own boy! Improvements made and also still to be had, ready to start competing soon😄🙌🏻
I’m available for riding work, whether it be jumping, schooling or hacking. Message to book🥰
First ever ride on Megan’s 5 year old Zanti yesterday 🥰
Despite being unbalanced and green, Zanti felt great to ride. She has become more consistent in her work, and it’s so nice to feel that she wants to stretch, after being the opposite when I first started to help Megan with her schooling.
She’s a really sweet and smart mare, and will be great once she’s stronger 🤎
Get in touch to book, or just to have a chat to see whether I’m the right fit for you🤎
Happy Valentines Day to you all and your grass (& money🤭) eating loves. Treat yourselves to a new saddlepad, or two 🐴🤎
First show of the year, at Port Royal last month. I was definitely a bit rusty🙈. A first and a third from two double clears🌟
