For those of you enjoying the hot weather and barbecues, please be mindful of your corn cobs 🌽.
They may seem like a harmless left overs from your barbecue but they can pose a serious risk to your dog.
They are tough, fibrous and poorly digestible, so if swallowed they can get lodged in your dogs stomach or intestines. This can cause dangerous blockage which is a life threatening condition requiring surgery.
They are one of the most common objects I've had to surgically remove from dogs intestinal tracks.
They are so easily snatched from the bin or scavenged from the ground if carelessly thrown away.
