Top Dog Sitters offers a Home Boarding Service for dogs as an alternative to Kennels. Some dogs find kennelling very stressful, so our service provides a home from home for your dog where they will have companionship, comfort and affection. They are given the run of the sitters’ home, and are treated as part of the family – It is holidays for dogs at its best, a true home from home. How does our s

ervice work? If you have an enquiry, please call us on 0800 689 1519 or email [email protected] (Sorry, but we cannot take booking enquiries through our page). We will ask you to register your dog(s). We will provide details of the sitters that are available for your dates, and make arrangements for you and your dog to visit the sitter in their home. This will allow you to see the home environment for yourself and meet any other family members (or dogs) in the household. After your visit, if you are happy and wish to book your dog in, we will confirm your booking – at which point a deposit is payable. On the start day of the stay, you would drop your dog at the sitters at a pre agreed time. The balance of your payment is then due to the sitter. During your trip (if you have requested), most sitters can text to let you know how their stay is going. We are sure your dog will have settled quickly into their new, relaxed environment but it is always good to put your mind at rest. On any future stays, you can contact the office to check availability, and if your chosen sitter is not available we can look at some alternatives for you. Top Dog Sitters aim is to provide the most suitable holiday home for your dog while you are away. Not every dog is suited to home boarding but most are. All our sitters are experienced dog owners, so have a lot experience in looking after our furry friends. They are chosen because of their love for dogs. Each of our sitters’ homes have been personally visited and passed an inspection by Top Dog Sitters. They have also been awarded a Home Boarding Licence issued by their local council, which is a legal requirement for the Home Boarding of dogs. Lastly, although we hope we never have to use it, Top Dog Sitters Ltd has Third Party Liability insurance.

While we all love having fun in the sun, it's important to keep your furry friend's safety in mind! 🌞🐶

Even at just 20°C, dogs can be at risk of heat stroke. This occurs when they can't regulate their body temperature effectively. Here's a quick guide to help you know when it's safe for your dog to be outside:

🟢 12-15°C: No evidence of heat stroke risk, have fun!
🟢 16-19°C: Generally safe, but keep an eye on large, obese, and flat-faced breeds.
🟠 20-23°C: Risk of heat stroke if exercised too intensely or if the dog has underlying health conditions.
🟠 24-27°C: Extreme caution needed, especially for large, obese, flat-faced, and very young dogs.
🔴 28-31°C: Dangerous, especially for puppies, large breeds, obese, flat-faced.
🔴 32°C+: Major risk for all dogs.
