It’s great to see so many people utilising oral fluid therapy on farm. Thank you to Yan Farm Health for organising such a great turn out of pumps for servicing.

A big thank you to Katie from Selekt who had a busy day servicing a record number 29 stomach pumps for our clients!
All wearable parts have been replaced free of charge (apart from those chewed hoses!)
Oral fluids should be part of most sick cow treatment protocols and may reduce the need for antibiotics and therefore milk out the tank.
Please talk to our team about how to optimise your oral fluid therapy on farm or if you would be interested in investing a pump of your own!

Reminder - NEXT WEEK - Pump Service Day!

Wednesday 5th July 2023!

We have Selekt coming to Yan for a day to service your Selekt stomach pumps FOC.

We will need your pump before 4pm on Tuesday 4th July, to make sure your pump can be done.

Please let us know if you would like your pump servicing, and if you are coming to collect drugs from the practice nearer the time please drop off your pump or give it to your routine vet!

It's hot, hot, hot 🔥 🥵 stay alert for heat stress among dairy cows during the heat wave!

Dairy cows are more likely to suffer from heat stress due to the demands of milk production.

Cows suffering from heat stress may become lethargic, reduce their food intake and become dehydrated. This in turn can cause further dehydration, reduction in milk yields, lower fertility rates and high risk of metabolic conditions.

Make sure the cows have:

👀Plenty of access to clean water
🐮Provide enough shade for all cows
🐄Good ventilation

For cows showing signs of heat stress pump- drench SELEKT Off feed in a minimum of 20 litres of water.
