The BBC are gearing up for Cheltenham week with a great behind the scenes look at the rehabilitation of racehorses. Ivy Lodge Farm Equine Rehab are long standing VPUK clients and truly do fantastic work with horses both in training and recovering from injury.
If you look closely (and she hasn’t been cut 🙈) you might see Hannah making an appearance.

Todays MEME is relating to the importance of using a mounting block when mounting. Whilst appreciating that we should have the “skill” of mounting, using a high mounting block (relative to horse) is useful. I know i post my dog carrying the feed bucket A LOT but he does love it.

So pleased to find a local pool for the boy. He loves swimming and it really helps his arthritis by giving his joints some none weight bearing exercise. Thank you @rainbowphysiotherapy he’s a very happy boy today.

I know i bang on about INDIBA, but it definitely stepped up to a challenge this last week. My poor boy was kicked by a horse on Monday 19th of December. Extensive swelling and bruising. After ruling out a break and internal bleeding he started an intensive course of INDIBA. Vets were very surprised at his mobility just 4 days later. Vets also expected the blackened skin to die off. Thankfully it’s returning to healthy pink skin. 1st video was taken day after the kick. 2nd video in comments taken 7 days after kick. He is also over 12 years old. 😍 Indiba UK

The snow hasn’t stopped me yet. If you have an appointment this week but access to the yard is affected please let me know, otherwise i’ll see you there. Stay warm.

He’s a little embarrassed as he doesn’t want to admit jumping in the car is getting harder and he won’t let me help him!

A lovely Monday morning swim to start the week. Getting his beach body ready!!

One of my patients making fantastic progress after a pelvic fracture. He is currently having Physiotherapy and daily water treadmill and exercises such as pole work.

So, the resident patient is making good progress. She's been treated every day including ultrasound therapy and today she had her first swim. A little tentative to start but soon got the hang of it. I'm seeing improvements already in her strength and joint stability but we still have a lot way to go!
