🌸 In Loving Memory of Daphne 🌸

Daphne came into our lives as the best 30th birthday gift, and what a gift she was. From the start, she was full of energy, personality, and that unmistakable Boxer spirit. She kept us on our toes with her “full-on puppy play” — leaping up with all her strength, mouthing and biting our toes! and reminding us time and again, “that’s a Boxer thing!”

Despite all the training, rally, agility, and countless playdates, it was Daphne’s quirks that truly made her unforgettable. She became her dad’s faithful work-from-home companion, always ringing her special doorbell during conference calls — so much so that colleagues knew her by name: “Steve, Daphne wants to go out!” And of course, she never missed a chance to press her button for her beloved peanut butter paws.

Daphne wasn’t just our dog — she was Ellie and Evie’s protector, friend, and part of every school photo. She guarded the garden from pigeons with her low grumble, and even kept watch on hot air balloons floating overhead. Birthdays brought out her playful side as she happily chased balloons, nose-bopping them with endless joy.

She may have started as a whirlwind of puppy energy, but she grew into the most loyal, loving best friend we could ever ask for. Daphne brought laughter, love, and light into our family, and though her paws no longer patter around the house, her spirit will forever remain in our hearts.

She was also the heart and inspiration behind Happy Paws & Chores — the very reason our business began and the proud face of it ever since.

Run free, beautiful girl, until we meet again at the Rainbow Bridge. 🐾🌈💖

✨ Thank You ✨

I just want to say the biggest thank you to everyone for your kind words and support during such a difficult time. It truly means more than I can ever put into words. 💕

After a lot of thought, and because I always want to give you enough notice, I’ve decided to give myself an extra day to rest. I’m feeling very sad and exhausted right now, and although my wonderful bunny boarders and visits are keeping me busy, I don’t quite feel ready to see the doggies just yet. 🐾

I hope you all understand – I never like to let anyone down if I can help it, but right now I need a little time to heal.

For my pay monthly customers, I’ll take the missing walks off October’s invoice if that’s okay.

I’ll be back to normal from Wednesday. Please just give me a smile when you see me, and maybe hold back on asking how I am… unless you don’t mind seeing the tears flow. 🥹💗

Today you took your final breath. Your heart grew still as ours shattered.

We wanted to let you know that our beloved family dog, Daphne, will be put to sleep on Saturday at home with us and her Teddy.
This is an incredibly difficult time for us, so we’ll be taking a little time out to process everything.

🐾 There will be no dog walks on Monday — walks will resume as normal on Tuesday. Please excuse any tears and if I don’t chat much on pick-ups.
Daphne has been a huge part of our world for over 10 years and has truly been the face of HappyPaws & Chores. She was recently diagnosed with a rare autoimmune disease, and the kindest thing we can now do for her is to say our goodbyes.

🐰 Bunny boarding and pet visits will still go ahead as planned, so please don’t worry.
💳 Refunds for Monday’s walks will be processed shortly.

Thank you all for your kindness, patience, and understanding as we say goodbye to our sweet girl 💜

Good evening all,

This weeks walks timings maybe slightly out due to Lady Daphne needing her medication and me popping back to her.

She had to go back to the Vets Friday for some biopsies and we are awaiting the results.

Rory joined the Happy Paws & Chores gang back in August 2022 – and wow, how that time has flown! ✨

We’ve shared so many fun times, adventures, and cuddles along the way, and he’s made lots of lovely new friends too. 🐶💛

This week we say goodbye as Rory’s family’s work patterns have changed. We’ll miss your cheeky face and waggy tail so much, little dude! 🐾💔

Thank you for being part of our pack, Rory – you’ll always have a special place in our hearts. 💕
