We had a very hectic weekend here at No Reins!
Long drive to Surrey to collect these gorgeous girls. 😍
Pepper is the little grey who is coming to join the team, and Dallas is the Palomino and a project for Lucy.
We will be documenting both of their journeys. They both have past trauma to overcome and loads to learn...

This is pure magic... Fire is a very special horse with a difficult past.
She 100% chose to work with this young man, and the relationship is beautiful to watch.
They absolutely understand each other on a soul level. It's the most wonderful thing to be a part of.

Wellness Wednesday grounding mediation with the ponies as the sun went down...
Relax and calm...
Then, a session on communication.
We split into couples. One person closed their eyes and led their horse over some obstacles, relying on the directions of the other.
Finishing with hot drinks and snacks around the campfire and a chance to discuss the session.
Our beautiful Secret really caught the hearts of everyone.

Take charge of your power... how you respond to situations 💪
Easier said than done in the moment, so give yourself grace...
Have that rant, that pity party moment, or that blow out and then gain back control and choose your response.
We always want to teach our young people to be in control of their emotions, this can't happen if we tell them that feeling the emotion isn't allowed.
Let them cry, be angry, or frustrated, acknowledge that emotion, then learn to deal with it. This builds resilience and helps them find healthy coping mechanisms.
Horse training is quite simply the same. If we don't let the horse express it's feelings and validate them, then the horse no longer wants to allow us to take leadership. Trust becomes broken, and the horse will no longer give us their best. 🐴

Pony club for younger, inexperienced or slightly nervous young people (with no upper age on this) 😁
Please email [email protected] to register your interest, and a booking form will be sent out. The cost is £20 per day. (If your child is under 7, we will require an adult to stay) 🤠
The 5 weeks will run like a course. However, each day can also work as a stand-alone session. 😎
Anyone who attends all the days will receive a certificate 🏅
We will be covering topics such as pony care, grooming, leading ponies safely, understanding ponies' behaviour, and having fun with our ponies. 🐴
Please book early to avoid disappointment as this group will be kept small.

This course is ideal for young people aged 8+ who have some knowledge around horses.
It will be groundwork based and will really help build a great foundation for young people who may have attended riding lessons but want to understand horses better.
It will be extremely valuable for young people who are thinking of owning their own horse in the future. 🐴
We will be covering topics like how horses think and why they behave as they do. Looking at how to communicate with our horses. Learning skills such as online and liberty. Looking at the basics of trick training and having fun with the horses. 😁
(There is also a pony club for younger, inexperienced, or nervous young people this year running on Wednesdays)

PONY CLUB SUMMER DATES BEING ANNOUNCED VERY SOON!!
These will be weekly with a focus on teaching young people all about ponies.
It is a unique opportunity to learn how ponies think and understand the world. Understand how herds work and how we as humans can 'talk' to ponies. As well as their health needs both physically and mentally.
This is all groundwork based and so much more than riding!
Although the days will work as stand-alone sessions, they will be progressing each week.
Any child who attends all the sessions will receive a certificate and prize as well as a wealth of knowledge and experience!!
The groups will be kept small, so please don't delay in booking.
