Wishing you of my loyal customers and their beautiful dogs a very happy, healthy and prosperous 2025!

In 2024, I had hand surgery, got engaged, turned 50, and learnt a lot about what’s important to me in my life. I’m practising gratitude every day from now onwards, as I know how fortunate I am.

Thank you 🙏

Keep your furry friends safe over the festive season with these tips from our vets 🎄

Find the full Christmas Survival Guide here: http://pdsa.me/DlXc

[Visual description: Infographic titled 'Christmas pet hazards'. Advice includes: Don't dress pets up for Christmas. This can cause your pets unnecessary stress and them to act differently. Be aware of popular festive plants that can be poisonous to pets if consumed (see guide for full list). Keep small and edible decorations well out of reach of prying paws to avoid any festive frights. Not all parts of a Christmas dinner are safe for pets and some can even be toxic. Check our guide for the do's and don'ts. Create a safe place. If you're having guests round, create a safe place for your pet to retreat to if it all gets a bit much. Search our Christmas Survival Guide for more information.]

Hello to all my loyal and supportive customers.

I’ve made the decision to add a small price increase (£2-£3) onto my services from 1st January 2025.

The cost of utilities is on the rise again, as are the cost of all the carefully selected, high quality products I use, and services I use to service and maintain my dryers, blades, and scissors.

As you know I only groom 3 (occasionally) 4 dogs per day and I offer a one to one service where I can give my undivided attention to your furry friend.

If I cannot increase my prices even by the smallest amount, I’d have to consider decreasing the allowed time per appointment which would compromise the service I offer as well as my health.

Thank you your continued support 🙏

Gorgeous Teddy the Irish Terrier feeling great after his pamper!

Peanut & Pickle marshmallow facial wash and Barkinson Lime and Coconut every day shampoo! He looks, feels and smells great! Nearly forgot to mention Julie Harris Dog Grooming Education soap which I apply liberally around the feet and wash thoroughly between toes and pads!

I used ultrasonic tooth cleaning on a spaniel for the first time last week with extremely pleasing results. The calculus deposits weren’t very thick as we’d got to work before they worsened. This dog is 3 years old.

Teeth cleaning is essential for dogs as much as it is for us. If you’d like me to try ultrasonic cleaning at the time of your dog’s groom, please let me know in advance as I need to allow longer for the appointment.

Thank you.

Does your pet’s fur protect them from the cold? ❄️

In most cases, yes! But in really wet and cold weather, if your pet isn't able to keep active or get themselves somewhere warm, their fur coat may not be enough. Like us humans, our pets, though thankfully rarely, can develop a dangerous and potentially deadly condition called hypothermia.

Any pet can become seriously ill if the temperature of their body drops too low, and acting quickly and doing the right thing could save your pet’s life.

Here are some key symptoms to look out for during the winter months! And if you suspect your pet may have hypothermia, it’s important to call your vet straight away and follow their advice ⚠️

[Visual description: Infographic about hypothermia in pets. Signs and symptoms include; shivering, drowsiness, confusion, clumsiness, pale gums and loss of consciousness/collapse. What you should do; 1. Call your vet straight away and follow their advice. 2. Get your pet out of the cold. Take them somewhere warm (not hot) and sheltered. 3. If your pet is awake, try to get them to drink some lukewarm (not hot) water. 4. If your pet is wet, use towels to dry them by rubbing them over. Change the towels when they become damp. 5. Be careful not to heat your pet up too quickly, this can be dangerous. Use blankets and towels under and over them to keep them warm. Using hot water bottles and heat pads will heat them too quickly and may cause burns.]

Let's not frighten our pets this Halloween 🎃

It's the most spooktacular time of the year and our vets have pulled together the ultimate pet’s Halloween Survival Guide: http://pdsa.me/PV9z

[Visual description: An infographic that outlines how to keep your pets safe at Halloween. This includes: keep Halloween treats out of paws' reach, be home before dark, leave treats for trick-or-treaters outside, move candle-lit pumpkins out of the way and create a safe space for your pets. Each point has a Halloween-themed image next to it.]

Some helpful tips as we head towards the darker afternoons. 🐾

With the evenings growing shorter, here’s some more tips to staying safe while walking your dog in the dark 🐕

🌙 Stick to familiar, well-lit routes for safety and ease.
🌙 Keep your dog on a lead or harness for control, especially with wildlife around.
🌙Walk with a friend if possible, and let someone know your route if you’re alone.
🌙Avoid roads, but if necessary, walk facing traffic and stay visible.
🌙Be mindful of other night walkers and give wildlife plenty of space.

Stay safe!
