They do fabulous work and help so many, we all hope we never will need them 💖 buy the raffle tickets direct from them to continue in their support x

When we go out to look for a missing dog, there’s always the hope that the search will end with us finding the dog hunkered down somewhere safe.

And sometimes we do.

But more often, we don’t.

More usually, we’re able to work alongside the owners, pull together the information they’ve already gathered, look at the ground with fresh eyes, and work out where their dog has been or which direction they’re travelling. That gives Dog Lost Cornwall something solid to continue working with, and that support carries on long after we leave.

While the search is still live, we don’t stop thinking about the dog. As a team we’ll discuss the terrain, how the search went, think about the types of places the dog may go to find a safe place, how the weather may be affecting them & what the potential hazards are in that environment.

We hope they’re keeping themselves safe, that they’re still moving, that there will be a sighting or they’ll show up again somewhere familiar.

And when the update comes, often a day or two later, to say they’ve been found, the relief is huge. We feel that right alongside the family.

There are searches where we never hear the ending, and those sit quietly with us. Never quite going away.

And through all of it, our own dogs keep us steady. Their focus, their desire to work, and their partnership give us the grounding we need to help owners through a really difficult moment.

It’s a small part we play, but we’re grateful to be able to do it.

So we drove only down our drive (so quite safe) as our van doors are both broken so he went on the front seat 🥰 like a good boy
