Yesterday Lexi went for her dental operation, and we are pleased to report that it went very well, and she is on the road to recovery! Here she is showing off her green post-op bandage.

We want to say another huge thank you to everyone who has supported us and Lexi, through donating, sharing, and sending well wishes. We really couldn’t do what we do without our supporters, and we are eternally grateful ❤️

Meet Shark and Pat 🦈🖤

These two adorable kittens are looking for their forever home together. Sharks mum came in as a pregnant stray, so he was born here in our cattery. Pat arrived with his mum as an only kitten, so once he was weaned, he joined sharks litter to socialise, and they became very bonded. Pat started off quite shy and unsure, but with the boisterous Shark next to him showing him the ropes, he soon learnt how much fun being a kitten could be!

Shark is full of confidence, always wanting to be close to you, often climbing up you until he can sit happily on your shoulders. Pats confidence has grown, and if you sit next to him, he will happily have a cuddle, and show off his extremely loud purr!

We are looking for a home for both of them, where they will have access to a secure garden space. If you would like to register your interest in them, please fill out out ‘Kitten Adoption Application’, which can be found pinned to the top of this page 🐾

Meet Dandy and Skylar 🌻

Dandy (short for Dandelion) is a DLH 13 year old female, who has been neutered and microchipped. She has been described as having a bold personality, and is very affectionate.
Skylar is a DSH 4 year old female, who has been neutered and microchipped. She is a bit more timid than Dandy, but as soon as she gets to know you, loves affection.

Ideally these cats would like to go to a home together. They are used to being around older, sensible children. Please get in touch if you believe that you could offer them a forever home 🐾

Our beautiful rescue cat Lexi is due to have some urgent dental work, and it is estimated to be around £500. As a non-profit venture, bills as large as these are a challenge for us, especially coming right on top of a very busy kitten season. Therefore we are asking our lovely supporters if they could please help us with this, so we can continue our rehoming efforts, as well as giving sweet Lexi the joy of having no more dental pain. This week we’ve had two neutering and microchip appointments, and the lovely Mercury Vets came out to see us for check ups, and 17 1st vaccinations. Here’s Pixie after her neutering appointment, and our Hoover litter ‘helping’ the vet nurse with their vaccinations!

Our cats for rehoming have had an afternoon filled with lik-e-lix! Whilst some immediately understood the slow feeder, it took some others a bit longer to work it all out… and some opted for a head rub instead! 🐾

We have been asked by many people what they can do to help the cats in our care, since we are self funded.

We have used Amazon to create a wish list of items that would be really useful to us, including food, lik-e-lix that have been vital in helping us to gain the trust of shy cats, and essential cleaning items that go through their every day wear and tear.

Yesterday we had a lovely day at the Ogwell Fair, and are pleased to announce that we raised a massive £383 for our rehoming efforts! Through Lucky bags, a Teddy Tombola, Bric a brac, donations, as well as our ‘Guess the Name of the Octopus’ competition, which was won by Jay and Stan, who correctly guessed his name as ‘Octo’! (See the comments for the video of the winner announcement!)

We’d like to give a massive THANK YOU to everyone that came out to see and support us, as well as the whole C4C Team who put in so much effort to make the day as wonderful as it was! See you next year Ogwell!! 🐾

We recently had the pleasure of talking to BIPC Devon, with the article featuring the owner of Cool for Cats, highlighting our cafe and the work we do 🐾

This month, we shine a spotlight on noteworthy businesses in Teignbridge, covering one of Devon’s best kept secrets, the Cool for Cats Café. Taking inspiration from animal cafes popularised in Japan, the Cool for Cats Café is a non-profit where customers can enjoy cake and coffee along with the company of cats.

Cool for Cats initially opened in Totnes in 2013 as the UK’s first ever cat café before re-opening in Newton Abbot in 2018. Since then, it has been a huge asset to the community, and all profits go towards maintaining a cattery and rehoming service that benefits owners who need a place for their feline friends to stay.

Much has been said about the purr-fect experience that the café provides, but it also has a rich history as Elizabeth Dyas, Owner and Founder of the Cool for Cats Café, has had a long career working as a nurse, midwife, and a female entrepreneur.

Home from Home!

Meet Louis (Tabby, M, 3yrs est.) and Prince (Black, M, 3 est.)!

These boys are FIV positive, so are looking to be the only cats in the household, in an indoor only home, or with access to a secure catio. Louis has been described as a friendly boy, and Prince is a bit more reserved. He can sometimes be scared of men and sticks, but we are hoping that he will gain confidence as he settles into his forever home. They have had all their vaccinations, are microchipped and neutered.

Here’s our special boy Earl G enjoying a lovely cuddle and fuss outside! (13M) He’s not a huge fan of the cattery lifestyle, and is ready to find a nice retirement home. He takes a while to settle in and get to know you, but when he does, he can be the sweetest old man. He is looking for a home as the only cat, in an adult only home, with access to a safe outdoor space.

Home from home.
Sweet girl Mia is approximately 17yrs old.
We have had the pleasure of looking after Mia when she has boarded with us.
Sadly her owners have had to make a very difficult decision as they are moving aboard again, an feel it would be best for her stay in this country as she is on medication. She has lived in a few countries around the world and now wants to stay in England permanently.
Mia is looking for a quiet indoor home (maybe access to a safe secure garden if she wanted to pop out but she loves to snuggled up in bed) with no children or other cats (even tho she has lived with other pets) she would prefer to be on her own.
The owners will pay for her medication for the rest of her life.

Sisters Fawn (tabby), Sika (tabby) and Fallow (black) are getting used to having a fuss, and we love to hear them purr away!

They are all looking for their homes, ideally all 3 together, but we are open to the idea of Fawn and Sika (the two tabbies) going together, with Fallow heading to a home with a similar natured cat, as she has shown interest in being around other gentle adult cats 🦌🐾
