So our saga continues with the threat of legal action due to dogs barking at our kennels. It would seem now that since we've abated the noise from inside the kennels, it has now been reflected at barking during the day. Obviously this is something we cannot actually control, but we also struggle to see how occasional dogs barking during the day whilst outside for the walks and play can be deemed as a nuisance when other factors are more continously noisy such as traffic on the main road and other dogs barking in gardens.

We recently were contacted as regards assisting in a sensitive case regarding the collection of cats in Manchester after another large animal charity could not assist. We want to say that due to this information being posted on social media (not us) it has caused a lot of hope for many people, who have cats missing and also created a considerable amount of time wasting for us responding to all these people hoping to find their cats.
We wanted to let everyone know that we have followed all the necessary steps to ensure the cats in our care are being reunited with their owners and receiving the necessary treatment and care required.
It is a very unfortunate situation that this information was put on social media before we were contacted as regards the sensitivity of the case and we are really saddened that this post has given many people false hopes of finding their cats and was completely unnecessary, if only we had been contacted and asked before sharing such information.
We are a small family run business and cannot always answer every phone call, message or email immediately. The good news is that for all those with missing cats, there is always hope and we want to wish everyone that has tried to contact us regarding their lost cats, keep looking as we have reunited a cat that has been missing for 4 years.
We have successfully contacted the owners we have information for. We will be sharing information in the next week in relation to the unchipped cats. Please may we ask that you wait for this information to be shared as we do not have the man power to answer literally hundreds of emails and calls.

Well its been a busy fortnight here at the kennels. Row 2 has had a makeover, and our chickens are happy with their new enclosure.

Good Morning from Lower Hey Kennels. Apologies if there was some barking coming from our premises, but we took in a dog yesterday from Manchester City Council and she was a little scared. I was up in the night to check, but evetytime it seemed quiet in the kennels, but due to my current situation with Tameside council I was concerned and needed to make this Apology just in case it was from us. We have worked hard to ensure we have minimised the barking from inside the kennels, but again we are sorry if we caused any upset.

We will keep trying to find Buster a home. Beautiful boy and totally loves people.

So it continues. After great expense making changes to the kennels to keep noise down, we still can't to satisfy one resident. Since moving into the Kennels in 2022 we have had a constant battle trying to keep noise down. I don't understand how if the kennels have been open for over 30 years it is only when new owners take over does the concerns of barking dogs become an issue. We have worked hard to ensure all our boarding dogs get walks 3 times a day outside, which was something not done by previous owners, so it is obvious that there will be occasionally dogs barking outside. Meanwhile we have made modifications to the insides with double walled acoustic insulation that has rectified the issue due to dogs barking inside as again dogs get excited when people are inside and can bark, also some dogs are just barkers, which we do have some regular guests, but you can honestly not here these when outside, so this complaint can only come due to dogs outside or being let out. We have worked hard to maintain a happy environment for people's pets boarding at the kennels and believe we are a integral part of the community. We also run a pet food bank and work with both the local council as regards owners pets who need somewhere whilst their owners are in hospital and we also work closely with local colleges taking in students on work experience. I am totally at a loss to how we can do anything more to keep the house down, but will continue to fight this complaint.
