European Guild of Canine Bowen Therapists

European Guild of Canine Bowen Therapists EGCBT provide self-interest/practitioner courses and a network of experienced Canine Bowen Technique therapists. Recognised by BTPA & Bowen Association UK.

The Canine Bowen Technique is a ‘light-touch’ therapy offering dogs a gentle, non-invasive and effective hands-on technique that aims to promote healing, pain-relief and body/energy rebalancing. Based on the principles of the Bowen Technique, a successful human therapy named after it’s developer, Tom Bowen (1916-1982). Developed in Australia during the 1950’s, it was brought to the UK in the early

1990’s. Its adaptation in the UK for use on dogs was started in 2001 by Bowen therapists Sally and Ron Askew, who started on their own dogs, and then, with the cooperation and support of their local vets, integrated their findings into their canine behavioural and rehabilitation work with great success. In 2003, following persistent prompting, they designed a professional program of training, with an holistic approach, for people wishing to become properly skilled Canine Bowen Technique therapists, and founded the European Guild of Canine Bowen Therapists (EGCBT) to bring this exciting modality both to the UK and to mainland Europe. The EGCBT Practitioner course in Canine Bowen Technique is currently the only course in Bowen for dogs recognised by the Bowen Therapy Professional Association (BTPA).

For our lovely Followers with dogs............CPR is appropriate for dogs whose hearts have stopped beating due to known causes like electrocution, drowning, or choking. However, it's unlikely to be successful if the dog has underlying health issues or severe injuries.
Steps Before CPR:
Check if the dog is unconscious.
Ensure airway is clear.
Check for breathing.

Position dog right side down on a flat surface.
Place hands over the heart (behind left front leg on larger dogs) Give 30 chest compressions followed by 2 breaths (close their mouth & seal your mouth over their nose)

As dog guardians, we all want our loyal companions to be well-behaved and happy.
