🐾Defying The Odds-With Old Boy Charlie🐾

What else is there to say about this perfect little gentleman. Charlie is well into his senior years and was told he wouldn’t reach his ripe age of nearly 13 due to some health issues. BUT…he’s still with us and going strong. We love him LOADS!

Charlie can’t walk very far anymore but his excitement when we turn up for his morning adventures always melts the heart. Charlie,we hope we have many more adventures with you. Oxnead Mill Pond this morning was the highlight of his week!💙🦮

🐾Garden Funtime-With Pluto,Luna,Rory & Charlie🐾

The heatwave keeps on rolling so its garden visits for the pooches once again. This adorable gang (who all live together!) showered me with love and fuss when I arrived. Their garden is a poochy playground with footballs, tennis balls, paddling pool and even an old car tyre (ask Charlie!). Pack is LIFE 💙☀️

This mornings early walk was down at the Horsford waterhole with the loopy labs Max (golden) and Bodie (black). Operation water hippo was in full flow..dried in record time though. Love these boys! 💦 🐾

❄️ The Coolest Doods❄️

This morning is an earlier walk for the lovable trio of Jasper,Ruby and Ralph. Staying in the shade, cool coats, no tennis ball (boooooo),lots of water and sit down cuddles along the way. Besties furever!🐾

🌟Blog Of The Dog: Introducing Dogs & The Art Of Friendship🌟

When you’re introducing two dogs to each other outside, first impressions matter. How the dogs interact in their first few encounters can set the tone for their entire relationship, so follow these steps to set their relationship up for success.

1. Start on neutral territory where you have plenty of space, like a park, open field,or quiet street. Start on opposite sides of your space walking the same direction. When one dog looks at the other one, they get a treat. Keep walking until they are no longer focused on each other.

2. Repeat your walk and reward method moving about 3-5 feet closer. As long as the dogs continue to pay more attention to you and less attention to the other dog, continue walking. If the dogs become too focused on each other, add more distance until they can successfully walk, take treats, and ignore each other.

3 Slowly decrease the distance (this might take a few walks) until the two humans can walk next to each other with the dogs to the far right and left of them, and can move forward without obsessing over the other dog.

4. Once you’re consistently walking well, allow the dogs to circle and sniff each other for a few seconds then lead them away. Repeat this several times. Any time the dogs’ bodies go still, lead them away and take a break.

5. Once you have several meetings where the dogs’ bodies appear relaxed (loose, wiggly bodies) the next step is to try the two dogs loose in a fenced area so they can move around as they wish.

‘A friend is one of the best things you can be and one of the greatest things you can have’ 🐾

☀️Next Week: WC 24th June☀️

We can all agree how up and down the weather is here in the UK. This makes our outdoor job challenging at times. This means as an animal care based business we have to put in measures to protect the welfare of the dogs we love.

Next week (Monday,Tuesday & Wednesday) are looking particularly warm so dependant on any changes, our summer protocol will be in place. This means:

• The team will carry extra water at all times
• No ball throwing to limit running
• No pavement walks in the peak day heat
• Walks in shaded areas (woodlands)
• Rest stops and chill breaks
• Home visits for garden relief and enrichment

If you are home and would like to cancel your walk, please let us know the day before so that we can plan accordingly for the dogs where the owners are at work and need a visit.

We adore your beloved dogs and always put
their needs first so as animal care specialists
we really appreciate your understanding. Happy summer everyone..Woof!🐾

💙 How To Be A Good Dog UNCLE💙

Me and Big Rock have been best pals since he was a puppy and it’s a privilege to be classed as his uncle. But what does UNCLE mean?

U:nderstand that he will steal everything!
N:othing but big slobbery Bernadoodle kisses
C:lear the area when he’s running at full speed!
L:ove him like he’s my own
E:xpect the look of love from time to time (🍒)

My heart could burst for this guy! Harvey the guide dog has to follow tight commands when walking with his owner down the roads etc. But today was a whole new hour of enrichment over the woods where he could sniff and explore to his hearts content. Even had time for a paddle in the stream. Look at that happy face 🐾💙

🌟Favourite Places-Felthorpe Woods🌟

There’s nothing better than exploring a beautiful woodland with the pooches and Felthorpe Woods is just stunning this time of year. There are various trails you can take whilst being surrounded by super tall pine trees. Make sure you come early in the morning or at dusk when the smell of pine is just delicious!🌲
