Normally we keep one species per cage but as an experiment (we have lots) we have tried keeping young heteropteryx dilatata and siliquofera grandis together. There have been no signs of aggression or predation (by the katydids). We wondered if the katydids might take advantage of heteropteryx ecdysis and have a snack but that doesn't seem to be the case at all. Some of the katydids are pretty big. We won't keep them together when they get bigger.

Despite a huge cage with countless branches a sub adult male Eurycnema V. decided doing his final skin shed off the back of a sub adult female was the way to go. He did it successfully and left the skin to prove it.
