Meet the newest member of the hell hound family.
This is poppet. Poppet was up for rehome after another trainer took her in and did some fantastic work with her.
She has such a loving tempermant and the drive to work.
And after bouncing back from a home or 2 due to zero fault of her own I decided to give this lady a home.
Which I cant thank Midlands Mutts Dog Training enough for giving me the chance.
Big things in store for this lady but for now we working on our relationship and its growing every day

So guys and gals.
I'd like everyone to pay attention to this video as this is as accurate to dog training as any aspect of life.
Setting a goal is crucial but comparing how close you are to that goal easy and every session will be demoralising as dog training is 2 steps forward and 1 step back.
So instead of getting overwhelmed by the pressure of reaching the destination, set the destination and then focus on one step at a time.

So guys and gals today's topic is play.
I wasn't going to do a topic on this but a very good trainer I know and speak to regularly convinced me to.
As trainers we tell clients to become the most valuable thing in yout dogs life and control resources such as food and toys to build better engagement.
Now we have been over hand feeding your dogs, now let's talk about toys.
Using toys can be a huge way to build engagement with your pup whilst they having fun and not knowing they are actually working.
Look at hela in this video in her eyes she brings ball back to dad and he throws it and she has time of her life.
What I see is engagement, she has to include me in the game or it becomes boring therefore making me a vital part of her fun and her seeing me as fun, but also make the game fun as you can see I don't just hand her the ball as where is the fun in that.. I make her miss the ball building her desire for the ball so when I throw it she takes off and has best time and wants to come back to do it again.
Aswell as building engagement doing play.with your dogs also gives them a day of training obedience or reactivity and allows them to just be a dog.
Playing games with your dog will help your relationship massively guys and gals so why waste it by leaving toys laying round house, hela only has access to toys through me.
Use play in your engagement sessions and you won't be disappointed.

This is a short clip of one of mine and hela's sessions
Everyone meet cali.
First thing you should know is cali already has a fantastic trainer and owner no label dog training
So where to begin with cali.. well firstly me and cali had a very rocky start, she was high energy dog who would bounce around and if you were unprepared for this she would walk all over you.
Needless to say I fell into that category.
After speaking to her owner she explained to me how cali had an unhealthy attachment to a male friend of theirs to the point when said friend was around cali would be purely focused on him.
So myself and no label dog training say down after our first attempt and came up with a plan. Cali and I were to work together on breaking that unhealthy attachment.
Now I'm not going to sit here and.say it was a walk in the park there were many late night sessions involved and alot of trust building to do.
However this was a clip from our session today and honestly this dog is absolutely fantastic.
Great thing ahead for this girl.
Say hello to Haly.
Halys owners came to me due to an issue they were having caused by a motorbike which resulted in haly getting loose and being chased by the motorbike.
The motorbikes intentions were good but due to this incident Haly is now reactive to the noise of bikes.
Now I will say this about her owners they got straight in touch. They knew how bad this could get and booked in with me so massive hats off to them.
This girls journey is going to be a special one and I'm so excited and honoured to be part of her journey.
Keep an eye out for her guys she's going to smash it 💪 👌

So this is dolly's 2nd recall session and to say she did extremely well is putting it mild.
Also to note she did a flirt pole session before recall as I had no intention of training today as was giving her a fun day.. but during the fun session she decided to go full length of long line and come back so why waste an opportunit.

To all those who say small breed dogs are nightmares... terrors... ankle biters... rats...
I.give you a small breed dog who.had every chance to run off during this.
However he didn't and that is because he was engaged with me and WE achieved this by training.
Small breed dogs are still dogs they deserve to be treated and trained as dogs... they are not fashion accessories or your little babies to push in pushchairs.
